He has the athletic tools to be one of the greatest all time , but he has huge flaws in his game IMO.

1.) Offensive low post game

This guy is a beast at 6'8 ,275lbs and an athletic freak. He should be able to post up just about any wing man in the league. Ray Allen has been on James a lot in this series, but james refuses to get into the low post to try and give the C's a different look. Instead every single Cavs possesion starts with James pounding the ball into the floor 30 feet away from the hoop. He dsperately needs to work on his post game this off-season if he ever wants to win a championship, jordan didn't become a champion until he developed that fall away J in the post.

2)Immarturity and Arrogance

EAs Wojo pointed out in his article today, Lebron feels llike he is entitled to be a champion because he has be built up so much by the media as the greatest all time from the 1st tim he stepped foot on an NBA court. He keeps saying after every loss to the C's that he isn't worried at all . Really? You would think a second straight beat down on his home court  would humble him, but apparently not. Also all the dancing in the regular season showed just how cocky and arrogant he is trying to show up the other team.

3) trusting teammates

I know it appears that the Cavs are a bunch of chokers, but they still have talent. Lebron should be setting picks for Mo Williams and roll to the basket. Or should go into the post and wrk the inside outside game. You know that Lebron is going to get doubled in the post leaving shooters open on the outside. Lebron still needs a legit #2 (shaq and Jamison aren't cutting it) but he could also be doing other things to get his teammates going.

I think that's a fair assessment.  I definitely agree on #1 and #2.  I'm not as sure about the third one; if anything, I think Lebron has been deferring too much to his teammates.  Certainly, they haven't been performing like they should, and it's not from lack of Lebron trying.

Disclaimer:  I didn't see Game 3 or 4.

I'm surprised you left off the list:

4.) A sore elbow
We all know this series would be over by now if it wasn't for the sore elbow  :'(

Just kidding.

Yes, I agree with your points, especially #1 which I hadn't thought much about before.
Celtics fan for life.

He has been deferring to his teammates a lot the past few games, but he doesn't help the offense if he doesn't have the ball in his hand. He hardly ever sets picks or screens for a shooter. He could be doing little things to get open looks for his teammates instead of just giving the ball to them and basically letting them go one on one.

1 and 2 you are pretty dead on.

Although I am not sure #2 has to do with maturity or arrogance. I just dont think the guy is wired the same way as some of the greatest competitors have been. Maybe it is because of a sense of entitlement but maybe he just does not care as much.

As much as I hate Kobe, I remember seeing him red eyed and crying after losing in the Finals.

I mean I really hate Kobe but I know for a fact thaat winning means everything to him and even more importantly, losing kills him, destroys him.

I dont think LeBron feels the same way. I just dont see it.

I dont really see 3 the way you do but either way good post.

Also, you obviously are not the only one but can we give the play on LeBron's name a rest? I just dont think they are funny and it sounds whiny to me.

One the other hand I am a big fan of Queen James.

Reminds me of Shaq's famous line about the Sacramento Kings. Classic.

I would also include the fact that he seems completely uninterested in improving his game. After the Cavs lost to the Spurs in the finals, he spent the summer working on his jump shot, which did improve the following season but hasn't since then. What else has he done to get better since then? He has no post game, he never moves off the ball, he's a good defender but chasedown blocks are the end-all of team defense. I see a player relying on a limited game instead of improving himself.

Lebron needs to adopt a scorer's mentality rather spread his talent thin in all categories. He needs to let the PGs do their job and get him the ball nearer to the basket. He could average Wilt-like numbers if he simply became a scorer who distributes when necessary. Also because he is basically the PG on offense, this negates his offensive rebounding potential. If he stayed below the foul line extended the majority of possessions, he would create more scoring opportunities.

I agree that LeBron should use his size to go into the post more, but no one is going to ever put up Wilt like numbers.

Take a look at his rebounding average, just a different game back then.

In fairness, his defense has gotten *much* better throughout his career.  He went from somebody known for only playing on the defensive end, to largely a lock-down defender.

Lebron has definitely improved his game a lot over the past few seasons.  However, he still has a lot to learn, and some growing up to do.  That said, he's still the best player in the NBA.

Which is a scary thought, he could stay at this level just by refining his game as his physical skills diminish. (He's at his peak right now from a purely physical standpoint, its all downhill from now)
