The morning after: Anyone else a little peeved?

The difference, I hope. is that LBJ does not have the killer instinct the man on the ropes had.

Not that i think in any way, shape or form that this series is over, and the cavs are more than capable of pulling out 2 in a row, but much like the LBJ- MJ comparisons, the thing thats missing is that killer instinct.

Hell, if you had told me before the tip in game one that the celtics would be outplaying the Cavs and have a chance to close in game 6, i would have thought you were crazy.

At best before the series started, the objective basketball fan in me would have put the green glasses aside and said we'd be down 3-2 right here and win to extend the series to seven.

I'd like to go back and look at all the "experts" opinions on this series. Legler is backpeddling faster than he ever did on defense as a player. I know he had the cavs in a sweep I think. How bold of him. Jumpin on the C's bandwagon now. We don't want or need you leggler.

Legler had this as a 7 Game series, though he believed the Cavs would win.

very peeved.if boston closes this out...many will make it about what LBJ didn't do rather than what the celtics DID do. it is a joke...BUT


i do believe the celtics are aware of this and will continue to use it as motivation. from what we are hearing in ohio, the cavs lockerroom is on the verge of a mutiny over mike brown and his playoff rotations and lack of in game adjusments.

if rondo attacks and the continue to play high energy defense..i think boston wins by 10 plus

I honestly do not care what the national media thinks at this point. I also kind of wish that Games 6 and 7 were at the Q at this point. I figure we could get one of those two.

But the onus is on us to close out on our floor tomorrow night and build for some momentum for the next series which figures to be REAL humdinger. I don't believe Orlando has been behind at all since the regular season ended. Atlanta, who we lost to four straight times, was swept by Orlando. We need to win the next game. After that all the Lebron talk would hit a fever pitch with questions about where he is going next year. After that died down the analysts would be forced to talk about the C's.

While were getting ahead of ourselves, let me toss in that while i think a possable Magic-celts series would be hotly contested i like our chances.

I credit the magic with beating the snot out of the hawks, but i don't think us being 0-4 agains the hawks translates.

The hawks are the perfect foil for the celtics. young, fast, athletic team who rebounds and outruns us in transition.

in much the same way, the magic are the perfect foil for the hawks. The hawks don't have great outside shooting, they rely on getting into the paint, something they cannot due against the magic. The magic shut off the lanes, and said "we'll give you the midrange and the three, aside from joe johnson...beat us with it and we'll stop playing in the paint and taking away smith and horford" and the hawks aren't built that way.

However, if the magic play us the same way, we have great mid range shooters/ 3 point shooters, and can draw them out of the paint.

It would still be a hell of a series though, the magic are for real. on the upside, joe johnson made Vince look terrible on the defensive end, but got no help from his teammates when the magic forced him to give the ball up and stop exploiting carter's defensive indifference

Well, I think there are two big stories from last night's game, and the bigger one is that the league MVP was completely invisible all night long. As if he simply didn't care what was happening, and decided to just mail it in.

That truly is a big story. The King has been exposed as a charade. People are now starting to question whether he has the drive, focus, and mentality to win a championship. The best player in the game, who is about to become the biggest free agent during what will be a historic offseason in terms of free agency, quit on his team in a pivotal playoff game. That's huge.

Well, I guess I'm in pretty select company Felt the C's had about a 65% chance.  I'm knocking on wood as I type this, don't want to jinx them. Anything can happen, but I think LeBron is already looking forward to his contract with the Knicks. And even if he has two fantastic games, he can't do it by himself.

BUT the one thing that gets me is how almost everyone, even a large percentage of the bloggers here, still think that Cleveland is a better team. HUH? The reason the C's weren't dominant during the regular season was because of injuries- why is it so hard to understand that?

Other than LeBron, the C's are superior at every position. Yes, even center IMO. The Cavs bench may match ours, but that's debatable. Depth is less important than quality. 

And again, why does everyone think that the next game is a "must" game, like the C's couldn't possibly win a seventh game in Cleveland?

Zero problem with Legler picking the Cavs in 7. He's been one of the biggest Celtics supporters in ESPN, so not going to give him crap for this pick.

Chris Boussard or however you spell it said on First Take that if the Celtics win this round, they'll win the Championship (or was it go to the finals?)

I've always hated Skip Bayless but he's been awesome with the LeBron bashing.

Exactly, Legler has been one of the biggest C's supporters. I remember thinking "Et tu, Legler?" when I saw him pick the Cavs in 7. But given the info he had then, you can't fault him for that choice - at least he wasn't like Abbott and thought we'd be steamrolled in 4.

MAN... I want the Celts to close this out on Thursday... I want it SO bad.
