While I think the reffing has sucked, a hallmark of every loss we've had is a Celtic or three staying on the other end of the court an extra 5 seconds to whine and moan after calls.

I think this was a problem during the regular season, but is a rarity during the playoffs. The team has gotten better at this form where I stand. The only one that sticks out was where Garnett was practically tackled by Lebron and couldn't get back on D because he was on the ground and Parker ended up with a 3 in transition.

The vid makes me depressed. The announcers were speechless.

Oh, Tim Donaghy...

I don't think Crawford was much of a factor tonight. Do you?
The beatings will continue until morale improves

nope. he has now been a ref on two of the greatest celtics wins of all time. as great as the celtics have been for over 50 years, a greatest blowout win ever to win a title has to be top 25 and a win like this today could be a top 50

You go Joey!

Officials did an EXCELLENT job tonight. Really great.

We got a good quality game to watch and they called it pretty even.

So, this really throws a wrench into the conspiracy theories, huh?  It certainly looked to me like the C's were the ones getting all the calls last night.

They took the same number of FT's (34) and Cleveland only had 2 more fouls called on them (30 to 28).

The game was actually being called tight on the perimeter. In the paint they were letting alot of contact go. I guess that falls in the Celtics favor.

Either way, we won so of course it was a great game by the referees! ;)

Well technically, there was nothing on the line in this game. I'll go out on a limb here and apply the conspiracy theory to game 6 which is an elimination game. In the first half, the Cavs will visit the FT line way more than the Celtics. I hope I am wrong.

The thing with Joey Crawford is I feel he can usually officiate a good game in terms of balance for both team which makes him a little different from a lot of the others. The only problem with him is when his ego gets in the way of good judgment which happens too often nowadays.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

This game was not officiated perfectly by any stretch of the imagination, but I think it was the most evenly called game of the series.

I think it's fair to say that in Game 2, we got a lot of help when it was allowed to be physical.  In Game 3, the game was clearly called in a lopsided fashion in the Cavs favor early in the game allowing it to get out of hand.  Game 4 was one where no one was allowed to be physical and thus the parade to the free throw line by both teams.

This game just seemed to be officiated according to what both teams were doing which is the best way to do it.  Both agressive offense and agressive defense got rewarded.  Fortunately for us, we were the agressive ones on both ends of the floor after the evenly played first quarter.

Can I say that Crawford actually made some great calls for us, and all the 50/50 calls it seemed he gave to us.

Thank. God.

Compared to other games this series the officiating wasn't horrible. Other than Lebron that was one of my big concerns heading into this series.

It's amazing how the better the Celtics play, the better the officiating is for them.

I agree.  I thought the refs were pretty much fair last night.  They missed some stuff, but they missed it on both sides.  In reading the Cavs boards, they didn't complain much about the officiating either.
