Lost among all the blame for the game 3 loss, was an extraordinary performance by Lebron James. Blame the effort, fans, age, coaches, etc all you want. Lebron was not to be denied last night.

I haven't seen an individual performance that great since Jordan in his prime. Lebron was everywhere and completely controlled the game. The first quarter was jaw dropping. The guy was hitting multiple 20 foot fallaways. Are you kidding me? No one can defend that. Repeat no one can defend that. Even if the Celtics had Scottie Pippen in his prime, Lebron was not to be denied last night.

Anytime Boston would start to get in a groove in the 2nd quarter, Lebron would answer with a big shot. Everytime! And often from the perimeter. If Lebron (and his teammates) is hot from the perimeter you are not beating his team. Period.

By the time the second half rolled around, the Celtics' frustration peaked and they had no cohesion on either end of the floor, despite individual solid efforts by Rondo and Garnett in particular.

Sometimes great players have great games. Lets move onto game 4, and give them everything we've got. Go Celtics!!

I completely agree. Game 4 for Lebron was kind of like Game 4 for Wade in the first round. When a superstar shows up to play, there is only so much you can do. Let's just hope he has his "usual" game tomorrow...

I'd be much more impressed if there wasn't all that fake, self-aggrandizing elbow drama. Its all an attempt to make this series into a "the time lebron beat the celtics BRUTALLY INJURED" momen for an ESPN documentary made after Lebron retires.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Oh believe me, I may label game 3 as Jordanesque, but I'm not annointing a darn thing. He's got to pull this trick in the finals multiple times if he wants to be considered or even discussed as the greatest.

And yeah, I think game 3 is the very best punch we will see from him or his teammates as a whole in this series.

This series is far from over.

he had a great game, I give him credit, but the celtics certainly didn't try to make it hard for him. The celtics defense was terrible. This is the team that made a lot of guys look like jordan this year. If he can do that against the defense that the celtics brought in game 2, then I will be truly impressed.

And yet nary a soul could be found on the bench to lay a flagrant 2 on James.

Somewhere Friday night, Kevin McHale was shaking his head sadly.

The Cavs brought the aggression; the Celtics ran home crying to Mommy.

The ref's set the tone for them to be aggressive and get to the rim from the very, very minute the game started... How many free throws for them in the first quarter??

Even McHale didn't drop a flagrant in the same game as the blow out game. He brought the hammer on Rambis in the next game, after the team regrouped.

Its all about the next game.

Kudos for the thread giving Lebron his due! Man, the guy is just something special and although he killed us in the last game you have to appreciate the guys play. A couple of years back he killed Atlanta in a series and I thought he was actually looking like he might end up being better then MJ. He will have to prove it to me but he does have that potential. I have just never seen a player with his combination of skills and athleticism combined with the physique. I do, however, think that there are a few players in NBA history who could have guarded him. Namely, Russ, Pippen and Wilt. Laugh if you want about Wilt but Lebron has nothing on Wilt in the athleticism department. Still, Lebron is a very, very special player and we won't see another like him for at least a decade so enjoy him while you can.

Was game three's beat down more of what Lebron did special or was it more of what the Celtics didn't do as a team both offensively&defensively?Im not giving him credit alone because his team mates had a hand in it too.Jamison had a breakout game,Shaq basically got what he wanted as well...i think it was a collective effort from them with Lebron scoring the most points, but thats expected.Wade's 40 pt game was more impressive(imo).

Let's also take away a lot of credit from LeBron for clearly faking this elbow injury to further his legend.
