hahaha. TP I like that shirt.
I've always thought seeing a greenout at the garden would be real cool (although at this point its kinda played out).
They give out shirts at the start of the game but it's never anywhere near enough to make an actual greenout. Maybe they don't want to be seen as copy-cats
Its sad that new players feel the need to tell Boston fans how to represent. There was a time when the Garden brought it without cheerleaders, jumbotron prompts, or free green tee shirts.
I don't think the cheerleaders, jumbotron, of green tee-shirts have any impact on whether or not the crowd brings it. Sure the jumbotron leads to a few cheers and chants, but the crowd is inspired by the players.
I went to a few playoff games back in '02 ('03?) and 2 playoff games in 2008. And those crowds were WILD. When I went to the first playoff game this year, against the Heat, I came away very disappointed with the crowd. There was no comparison between this year's crowd and the crowd during those previous playoff runs.
Energetic play leads to an energetic crowd. And with the C's giving less then maximum effort for the majority of this season, the crowd just didn't bring it.
Hopefully, the energy that the C's have played with so far in this postseason inspires the fans for these next few home games.
