At least to me he has... But he did that a while ago.

First he picks the C's to lose in the first round to the Heat? Now he is talking about how there is nothing like  going to a Lakers playoff game (I could understand if it was against the C's)?

He did save himself a little bit at the end with what he said about not doing for Jack and saying go Celtics.

I was just about to post this same article.  What a crock of garbage.  The last part where he says, "Go Celtics" is just as bad as his "reverse jinx" excuse.  He is clearly following a progression in Laker fandom that he himself chronicles in his article.  I don't really care if he is a celtics fan or not, just don't claim to be one and then rag on them at all times while blowing up the Lakers.

I can understand the point of view that he has to be objective, but in his attempt to not look like a homer, he has made himself a hater while become a Laker fan.  It's ridiculous how much he talks about them in articles and podcasts while not even mentioning them in the Celtics.  In his most recent podcast he talked ad nauseum about the Lakers but barely talked anything about the Celts huge win.  He is getting unbareable.

Totally corrupted. A Celtics fan in the "I remember how I was in my childhood" way. Doesn't really root for us anymore.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Yeah Simmons has spent a little too much time with margaritas in the California sun.

At least he has a disclaimer that he'd rather be watching a game in NY or Boston. And I do have to admit that the types are spot on, and the A-types (lower to middle class in the bad seats) are in fact die hard fans. Laker Basketball is by far the number one sports attraction in Los Angeles.

But, yeah, to just swallow the Kobe fan love, is where Simmons has further surprised me.... I hate Kobe.... I hate having to listen to all the Kobe love in LA. I hate it. I hate the Lakers.

I attended a few Laker games to broaden my horizon, and I hate them.

Go Celtics!!!

And if the Celtics loose... Go Magic, Cavs, Hawks, Spurs, Suns, Jazz!!

Bill Simmons started using mad libs to write his articles years ago. Only, instead of using things like ___adjective___ or ___noun___ it says ___80s comedy reference___  or ___Pop culture reality tv reference___

Though, I really did like the "hate it more than hedi montag hates dignity" line.

He says that he'd rather be in an old school die hard building like Boston or New York but LA isn't a bad fallback.

Yea I don't mind the article on its own...Bill Simmons in general has just irked me for a while now.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
In his Podcast the first thing Ric Bucher said to him was

" I bet you are on Stub Hub trying to buy a ticket on the Celtics bandwagon"

After that Bucher went up a notch in my book.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Funny how some of you guys actually give a rip about what this hack says...

I don't find his "journalism" to be worth the time it takes to read...I don't like "writers" who profess a clear rooting background for a specific team (as he notes of his youthful passion for the Celtics) who then write for national publications.  There will be NOTHING OBJECTIVE from him, and all he's doing is getting you guys' ire revved up since he's backing away from supporting the Celtics...

Who cares what he thinks?

so he went too far by saying that a laker playoff game is fun to attend because of the scene in the stands and they have some good die hard fans?

He's an LA guy now, it's as simple as that.

He watches more Clippers and Lakers action then Celtics.

TP for IP.

Still, I'm a fan and willing to overlook some of his worse impulses given that he's one of the few mainstream sports writers who is first and foremost an NBA fan. Also may give the a best "from the stands" perspective?

We need a running thread on the state of Simmons' Celtics fanhood.

Fantastic W. Took out crowd early, showed some heart late. Rondo best player on court both games. Cavs rattled. LBJ hurt. I'm encouraged.
