So who is more at fault here, the bad fans at the Garden or the fact that Commissioner Stern fixed the game?

Both. We should cheer our team on in the face of the fix!!

Neither -- Celtics played horrible basketball for most of the first half.

This game will tighten up. No lead is safe in the NBA at the half. Obviously we have to play with more urgency overall and smart on offense, and avoid ridiculous bad calls to kill our momentum.

I'm dishing out TPs to those of you who haven't lost faith. The overreactions on this blog are ridiculous.

The sky's not falling. LeBron is going supernova. That's why he's the MVP. If the accuracy of jump shots don't even out in this game, they will in the next. Mark my words.

Go Celtics!!!

  • You know my methods, Watson.
let's be fair...  if all this is is a form of "entertainment" where dancing girls shake their stuff, a dunking leprechaun lives amongst us, and it's jumbotron fever - doesn't the paying customer have a right to boo?

if we're not entertained, can't we let our feelings be known?  :)

Wow.

You guys want to blame the fans for a team that is not defending. At all.

And not attacking offensively. At all.

And not rebounding. At all.

Please. That was an absolutely disgraceful display of inept basketball.

I blame fans for lack of energy in the building! Have you ever played in front of a home crowd? It can lift you to greatness. This crowd is not bringing it!  The Celtics need a lift! Home court is supposed to be an advantage!!!

Played, and coached. For years. The crowd is a non-factor, at this level and at any level post high-school and any attempt to rationalize this putrid half of basketball on it is specious.

Exactly. The crowd is a red herring. The refs are a red herring.

The Celtics played poorly.

These are just excuses concocted by people who don't want to admit that their team is playing terrible, terrible basketball.

I GUARANTEE you that Doc Rivers isn't talking about the crowd. Or the officials. He's talking about a total lack of effort at both ends of the floor.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

i know how stupid and uncaring much of the new generation is in this country.

Signed, every generation in human history.

Well, the refs suck, the crowd sucks, and the team sucks.  The team doesn't suck because of the crowd or the refs.  But they're not helping.

Still a lot of ball left though, we can pull this out...

You're wrong.  It was the combined work of the Illuminati, Hitler, and the Soviet Union to help Stern sabotage the Celtics' season.

Celtics called for 8 fouls in the first quarter. Cavs called for 7 fouls in the first half.

LOL I've seen games called like this before and the team getting screwed by the calls has never won. Sorry guys stern is putting his boy through to the next round. I gotta go watch some WWE now. This game is too obvious.

tp

I missed the 1st Q. Scoring wise Celtics got rocked, but what about officiating? Was it that bad?

remember America didn't give up when Germany bombed Pearl Harbour.

i hope to God you are not that stupid.

let me guess, you are one of our wonderkind Gen X sloths who never paid attention to anything while growing up other than MTV and video games.

Have you ever seen a slightly influential comedic film called Animal House?

i was hoping it was a joke of some kind - but forgive me for missing a punch line - i teach high school math and i know how stupid and uncaring much of the new generation is in this country.

Dude - why don't you stop insulting people when you're the one who didn't get the joke?

Sheesh.

I'd like to see us get back in this game just so we can maybe get some confidence back for the rest of the series, starting with game 4. There's no excuse for just not showing up like this.

As soon as this team experiences any success, they become complacent. PP looks like he woke up 5 minutes before the game. Just no energy. I just don't know what to say. Is it age?

That comparison to the Detroit Pistons winning game two in the 2007/08 Conference Finals against Celtics is looking on point right about now.

Celtics completely out-classed the Pistons in that game three and went up by nearly 20 points at halftime if my memory serves me.

Nope, Animal House quote. I'm well aware the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour (December 7th, 1941). As FDR said, a day that will live in infamy.

As for this game, to quote Churchill, "we will never surrender".

Nice sterotype and insult though. Can I give a negative TP?

The booing won´t change anything, but cheering on your team might do the trick.

I wonder how anyone can look at KG and think he doesn´t play with intensity and full effort.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I am so sick of hearing us fans complaining whenever we are losing. Can we just admit that we are simply losing because Cleveland was shooting the lights out? Stop blaming the refs, the fans, the team's lack of heart, etc. It is what it is, we are down by 20+ because of Cleveland's hot shooting. I doubt they can keep this up the whole game so we are definitely not done. Remember what happened in the finals in 2008? We came back from 20 something against the Lakers! Please fans, let's be rational and realistic and most importantly, HAVE FAITH! These are the C's that we love. There will always be ups and downs, but one thing shouldn't change, that is our support.

Let's go Celtics!
