I say yes. The only way I see the C's winning this series is in 6 games.

Since the Big 3 formed they have yet to lose a game 2, but they have yet to play a game 2 outside of Boston.

I feel confident the C's will win 3 and 4 whether they are down 0-2 or 1-1.

I see Game 2 being as close as tonight's game was.

No, but if they don't they'll have to win games 3-5 in order to have a shot.

If we even get there, Game 7 in Cleveland will be won by the Cavs.

It could certainly help if they win game 2. But this team could easily lose the next game and then run off three in a row.

They absolutely have to win game two in order to win the series.

Otherwise, they have to take 4 games out of 5 vs Cleveland. With a game 7 on the road.

Yes -- I cannot see this Celtics team winning four out of five against that Cleveland team which is what they would have to do if they dropped the first two games of this series. They need to win game two.

I think so. We have to be at least be 1-1 before Game 4 which is an afternoon game. I'm so paranoid about those now.
Based on our sloppy play + the shaky officiating in the two games we were up 3 against Miami I'd say going up 3-1 would be the best thing for us so we have multiple chances to clinch the series.

They have to win 4 of games. There is no one game they have to win. The do not have to win game 2. If they lose game 2, but wint the next 2 at home, what's the big deal?

They only need to win 1 on the road if they win 3 at home. Can be game 5 or game 7.

There are so many cliche things to say in sports, but they are usually just cliches. It is always better to win than to lose, but the only must win games are elimination games.

I think winning Game 2 would be fantastic for morale. Losing Game 2 would be incredibly devastating to a team that was just starting to get it's mojo back.

While we would still have a theoretical chance at the series if we lost G2, I'm not sure we would have a practical chance.

It will definitely be an interesting game.

What are the odds of the Celtics winning 4 of the next 6 games? What about 4 of the next 5?

I get your point (which is very literal-minded, I suppose) but really, going down 2-0, with a game 7 looming in Cleveland... if it doesn't bury us, it almost buries us.

Probably.

I just think it will be awful tough to win a game 5 and 7 in Cleveland assuming we git-er-done in Games 3,4 and 6 on our turf (even that is a big if).

The fact we battled hard tonight and came up short is not very encouraging to me.

We need all of our players to produce to make this happen. There were some good things that happened out there for the Celtics, but the bottom line is all that counts. Did you win or did you lose?

You are what you are.

They need 2 of the next 3 games, doesn't matter which ones. I think if the Cs win game 2 the Cavs will have enough urgency to take one in Boston anyway.

I think they need to steal this in Cleveland early, I don't like taking game 7 there.

But to answer the question, no they don't. The Celtics need to win 4 of the next 6 games to win the series. That's why the playoffs are beautiful.
