One more note from first half - Quis did a good job on LBJ, in the couple of possessions he guarded him. When TA or PP get in trouble, that'll work okay I think. Less so on the offensive end.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Varejao + Hickson played a combined 13 minutes.

If they are only playing around 25mpg ... Boston is the favourite in this series.

If the Celts play the defense they did in the first half, they're favorites regardless.

Cavs: FG: 16-38  3's: 1-3 Ft's: 10-17 Rebounds: 18

Celts: FG: 22-41  3's: 1-4 FT's: 9-10 Rebounds: 23

Really strong D, holding them to low fg % and outrebounding them.

For a team that has struggled on the boards all year that has been the biggest, and most important, turnaround in the playoffs.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
The Celts played as good as you could have hoped in that half. Just awesome stuff from Rondo, KG, Perk, everyone.

BUT.....

Bogus calls are a concern and LeBron played like garbage. I don't buy the elbow thing for a second--he can turn it on at any second. Can't you see the announcers falling all over themselves to talk about LeBron's "grit" and "will" getting over his "injury"? He's not going to be that bad all series, and the C's need to be ready.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

  • Let's Go Celtics!
The key to this series right now, is the Celtics playing a full 48 mins. They just need keep their collective foot on the pedal and show some killer instinct.

key to the game is definitely coming out strong in the second half.

C's should be up over 20 between the 5 blown layups, the bogus charge on Rondo and the first BS foul on PP that was a charge on Bron for plowing right over him.

Cle better give thanks to the refs having a quick whistle the C's.

Well... Cleveland blew a bunch of layups in the first quarter. that works both ways.

if Sheed could hit a layup or hold onto a rebound--we'd be up 20+

Even if he's not really hurt, I don't think LeBron can beat us unless he starts hitting jumpers. I don't know if he'll do that or not, but certainly if he doesn't there's no way the Cavs win unless LeBron is hitting jumpers.

He hasn't taken any so far, really.. maybe it really is bothering him?

lets hope the refs get a grip in the 2nd half. if they keep calling phantom calls on us, the cavs will make a huge run. we need pierce and our bigs to stay in the game.

if the Cavs win this by like 2 points---it will because the refs kept them in it.

It's clearly bothering him. It's obvious, isn't it? Not taking jumpers, finishing with the left hand, looks tentative overall.

Reggie and Marv can't fawn over the Cavs enough to suit Stern and the national audience.  Sad really.  Seems like whenever the C's make good plays it takes them by surprise and they under play it.  Man I miss Mike and Tommy
