The Cavs did play good defense on Ray Allen in 2008, and have continued to do so in regular season meetings since then, but there were also other factors that are much improved now.

Ray Allen was very good against Cleveland this year. Shot 50%+ from the floor in 3 of the 4 meetings.

And I think he was very good because, well, he's very good, not because the Cavs stopped playing defense.

I see what your point was now.

Barkley, responding to Kenny Smith's statement that although the logical pick is the Cavs, his gut tells him to pick the Celtics:

"The Cavs are gonna win 4-1.  The Celtics are gonna prolly win one game in Boston.  But if I had any gut at all I'd pick the Cavs to sweep 'em."

Wow.

Kenny, for his part, guaranteed that the Celtics would win more than one game.

Sir Charles: "If I had any kind of 'guts' at all, I'd say the Cavs are gonna sweep the Celtics" ... what amazes me is not his biased rants, but the fact that despite the endless amount of times that the Celtics have proven him wrong, he still talks them down. When are you gonna learn, Chuck?!? (I love this underdog stuff, though! ;))

You know if LeBron struggles he's going to blame this elbow thing ... I mean, I've rarely heard of an injury that was so obscure and that people are so reluctant to describe. LBJ loves to manufacture these "adversities" that he seemingly overcomes with super-human powers ... give me a break. I'd love to examine his elbow close-up or see a CT/MRI of it.  ::)

Actually, from a physician's point-of-view, KG's injury was quite easy to describe ... and really no comparison to this stuff with LeBron's elbow "injury".

Right, I'm looking forward to a WIN on Saturday and Barkley eating his own words....game is on TNT. He said we might get only one in Boston.

Chuck going against us is actually giving me more confidence since he is a good of a predictor as I am in physics.

Don't want to single anyone out, but some who are now criticizing Barkley are the same who've been calling the Celtics second round losers for at least a month if not two.....Does "toast in the playoffs" ring hypocritically true for any of the Barkley prediction trashers??  "Blow it up now"?

The media get paid for their predictions and it's fun and it's our job to hack away at their prediction and prior failures in that department.  Less fun was the hack job on our own team that went on and on.....(didn't mind the anxiety...Celts provoked plenty...but didn't like the hack job.....so if you were a hacker, leave Chuck alone!)

 :)

You probably should single them out, because otherwise your statement here unfairly casts a shadow on Sir Charles detractors like me, who have never , (or would never), call the Celtics "second-round losers." ;)

Oh yes, those who didn't tear the Celts to shreds, like yourself, have earned free reign to take down the Chuckster!  That's what's great about being positive.....you don't end up a hypocrite naysayer when others dear us down and you then defend us.  And, even better, you don't have to eat crow when the champagne flows!

Yet they never clearly explained his injury to the Celtics fan base.  It may or may not have been a simple injury, but at the time we really weren't sure what it was, and it wasn't really ever made clear to us, at least not before the end of the season.

Well, I never said anything quite that over the top, but I have felt for quite a while now that the most likely end to the Celtics season would be a 2nd round exit at the hands of the Cavs or the Magic.  My feelings haven't really changed on that.

What I find ridiculous is the fact that Barkley is so certain that the Cavs will absolutely demolish the Celtics, that the Celtics have no chance whatsoever.  I've never felt that way, and I think anybody who goes that far is being willfully stupid or is simply an idiot.

One thing I know:  Just about now we're set up pretty well for a miracle.  If the Celts pull it off it will be a much bigger surprise than when they won it all 2 years ago (I believed all that year they would win it....not even surprised that year....just a thrill)...

This year it would be a miracle and a thrill, as if God were green...
