marc fein of nba tv has 0 basketball intelligence...let me repeat...0 basketball intelligence...tommy is not a homer...he is usually on the money...celtics have 0 free throws with 3:00 left in the 1st half with all the bailout calls the heat got all game...then he has the gall to repeatedly call tommy a homer and then sarcastically repeat that tommy is #7 all time scorer in celtics playoff history...marc fein...i say to you...you could not, can not and never will be able to carry tommy's jockstrap...tommy is a hall of fame player...hall of fame coach...hall of fame announcer...you will never be a hall of fame at anything...marc fein...you are a disgrace...
Tommy is unquestionable among the worst homer announcers in the league. He seems blind. He views the game is such a lopsided manner that I feel sorry for non-homer fans who have to listen to him on NBATV or league pass.

Tommy sees what he wants the play to be instead of what really happened. He also gets outraged about actual bad calls against his team, while conveniently ignoring bad calls in his teams favor. He would be better off relaxing and showing evidence of some sort of basketball expertise.

In your opinion.  I love Tommy exactly as he is.

Also, I think Tommy does, in fact, show off his basketball expertise.  He adds a lot to games other than ranting about the officiating.

marc fein's credibility is the one that should be spread as ashes...the facts are the facts...watch the game...celtics shot their 1st free throw with 3:00 in the 1st half...the facts speak for themselves...and as sheed always says...ball don't lie...there is no excuse for these referees...it's so obvious they are babysitting dwade and babysitting the nba...watch the game...the facts speak for themselves...1st free throw with 3 minutes in the 1st half...that is not being a homer...that is watching the game with your eyes open...nuff said...
I am guessing that you are joking based on the format of your post and because you are saying things like "ball don't lie", but in case you actually mean this stuff...

The facts do not "speak for themselves". They require people like you to put spin on them to fit your agenda.

Are you saying that if our opponent doesn't shoot a free through until 3:00 left in the 1st half, it means the refs are calling the game for us?

You are free to view that game how you like, but don't bother with illogical justifications.

It is rather shocking that there is anyone who doesn't think that Tommy is a super-homer. Some may like it and some may find it grating (as I do), but most everyone acknowledges his lack of objectivity. Heck, I think even Tommy acknowledges it.

I'm sort of okay with the homer thing. Much less so with the constant whining about fouls.

But his worst quality as an announcer is when he's upset about a call, the replay is shown and he's CLEARLY wrong and he still pretends like it was an injustice.

He's still very likable if you're a C's fan. And he clearly knows the game. But this HUGE blind spot has made him a joke around around the league (as an announcer).

I feel that TNT must spend about 40% of their broadcast talking about how dinged up Kobe is and how dinged up LeBron might be. I'll take Tommy's "home-risms" any day over the man crushes over Kobe and LeBron.

ok...that's it...people like marc fein and people who support him should rewatch the game...i love all these innuendos, grandstanding and patting yourself on the back as other people have accused lebron of...marc fein went out of his way in a blatant and derogatory attack of tommy...he called tommy the biggest homer announcer a number of times, ridiculed him for being the #7 all time playoff scorer in celtics history the first chance he got after mike gorman mentioned it, joked about having the tv audience guess who was talking...tommy or mike gorman...on and on and on...he took every available opportunity he could because tommy is, was and always be a hall of famer and he will never be a hall of famer at anything....some people would rather nitpick and play games of semantics...if you didn't recognize that you either didn't watch the game, are blind or are not a Celtics fan...you pick...

Tommy is a homer, but he's not the "worst" homer as some here have said, he's the best homer! We want Tommy to be a homer, and if he wasn't a homer, I wouldn't enjoy his color anywhere near as much as I do now. The reason I don't like Donny is because he's not the homer that Tommy is. Being a homer is not a bad thing ... I'm proud to be a Celtic homer, and I'm sure Tommy would be the first to admit the same. If you don't like Celtic "homerism", there's always those other "objective" channels you can watch!  ::)

Maybe I've been spoiled by the tnt and espn guys in the first 4 games, but Tommy was especially bad last night.  I don't know if he was sick, but Mike carried him the whole time.  He would go 2 minutes at a time without even speaking.  And when he did speak, it was only about the refs.  I love Tommy the person, but Tommy the announcer was absolutely horrible last night.

I agree here, Tommy was off his game last night a bit. Maybe he had too many shots of Bushmills before the game last night? Who knows, but he was still entertaining and I ususally agree with most of what he says even though I'm also a Celtics Homer - but who cares? Either way, I'd love to drink a couple with Tommy after the game and talk C's b-ball. He seems like a funny cat.

Donny tried at half-time -- calling out the refs -- but it's just not the same.
