Miami  played hard and with desperation to avoid elimination at home.  They deserved this one....much as it pains me to say it.

  • Thank you Eddie!
I would like to thank DOC RIVERS for wearing out his BIG 3 in the 3rd quarter---By playing them ALL the ENTIRE time----THUS leading to 5 MISSED free throws to LOSE this game for us....GOOD Coaching there.
Once again, you need to chill.  Yeah, we choked the last 4 minutes, but no defense in NBA history could have stopped Wade from having that 4th quarter.  If Wade didn't magically go into NBA Jam "HE'S ON FIRE!!!" mode, this series is over.  There wouldn't have been a chance to choke late in the 4th.

You do realize Ray and Pierce didn't play much of the first half cuz of foul trouble, right? Kg and Paul play 37mins, Ray played 34. That's were you want them to be for a playoff game.

At some point, you have to stop blaming Doc and blame, oh I don't know, the players...

HEY, I remember KC Jones doing the EXACT same thing in 1987 vs. LA----Lead to Magic's Junior Sky hook and the CHAMPIONSHIP-!!

You tell me why Ray Allen misses 3 straight and KG 2....TIRED legs-!!

Can we not overreact to this loss?

Wade had to play the best playoff game of his career and it comes down to missed free throws on the celtics part.

Amen, the Chicken-Little's are out again. It is a 4-5 matchup in the NBA playoffs. Going home up 3-1. Hardly the worst position to be in. It took an all out amazing performance for The Heat to win this one. We didn't help with missed free-throws. My confidence is not shaken.

We're still in a great position, and my confidence is no where close to being shaken but I really wanted the sweep and to get it done, but what can you do when a top 3 player in the league has a playoff career high and when a 90% free-throw shooter misses 3 in a row.

I don't think they deserved it.  I think they got lucky.

That was the most incredible choke job I have ever seen in my life.  At least in the NBA.  I saw a chick miss two layups in NCAA womens tourney but ID argue this was on par with that

Because Dwayne wade being a great player and at one point hitting 3 contested three pointers in a row had nothing to do with it.

Wade beat us with a near perfect 4th quarter. Thats what great players do. Luckily, they have to win 3 more games, and given that wade has been trying to be superman all series and succeeded 1/4 times, and he won't be able to do that.

Sucks we didn't end this today, but i'm not real concerned that wade is going to be turning in 20 point 4th quarters at will, doubly so that include the 3 contested 3's he hit in a row to spark them. We'll beat them in game 5 and close it.

He was on FIRE---cause they decided to STOP playing defense after the 3rd---They let Miami just bring the ball up with NOBODY near them-!

  • GOT IT!!!
So, what is the story of this game?

The officials, Wade´s performance or the missed free throws?

Wade. If he doesn't go off the C's lead climbs and they win by double digits.

You cannot blame the coach on why players miss free-throws.  Tired or not they are professional basketball players and they should make their free-throws.

there's no excuse for this end of game performance---none whatsoever.

blown layup, blown free throws, bad defense allowing a last-second layup by Miami.

True, they could have closed better. But if it's going to take a 20 point fourth quarter from wade along with 5/5  :o shooting on contested 3 pointers for him to get his team to care about not going home, I'm very ok with 3-1 headed back to boston.

I mean, this sucks because we don't just finish it with a sweep, but if Miami's only hope is a absolutely superb performance for wade that includes a 3PT percentage over 60% at the moment, I;m pretty confident we're moving on shortly...like in game 5.

Lets give credit where it's due. I feel alot of times as fans, we never credit anything, it's always something our team did wrong.

But in this case, while they could have closed alittle better, Wade had an out of his mind fourth quarter. 3 of his 3 pointers where very well defended. He had a near perfect quarter to give his team the win.

A hit tip by me to him. I don't think he can do it 3 games straight, so i'm not concerned.

He'll still play well, but not "whatever double team im rising up and burying yet ANOTHER 3 pointer" well. and without his transcendent start and fourth quarters today, the heat are pedestrian.

That the Heat came a Rondo missed lay-up and 5 missed free throws from possibly losing at home is amazing.

wade is a 30 percent 3 point shooter this season..i will be glad to give him that shot all day...big deal....he is on a bum knee and just played the entire game to eek out a win. boston is going to be fine tuesday...10-15 point win...sometime losses are needed to regain focus

Really? That comparison coupled with you claiming this to be the worst choke you have EVER seen has left me simply shaking my head. I am mystified by both of those pronouncements.
