I have to agree with those who don't care:

He's a professional, and has been a professional long enough to know exactly what he can and can't do to his body. There is a long list of great players, from Bird and McHale to Barkley and Jordan, who have been known to drink heavily and then have fantastic games.

Midnight isn't late for someone who is used to his work day ending right around that time.

A couple of drinks isn't likely to do much to a man that size who is used to drinking.

As alcohol goes, red wine is pretty healthy. We know he's adopted healthy eating/exercise as his pet cause... he's not going to go on a public binge while constantly preaching moderation in PSAs.

He wasn't doing anything reckless or dangerous. He was playing in a very low stakes (for him) card game... like lots of people, including his teammates, do all the time. Hope they weren't using the deck that got TA, Big Baby, and Rondo sick.  ;)

Looks to me like he spent a completely tame night out.

How annoying must it be to lose 300 to a guy who definitely doesn't need it? You know Pierce was only doing it for the competition.

And for the CBlog record, my jumper used to be money in Sunday afternoon games after drinking heavily on Saturday nights. Probably because everyone else was hung over as well. :P

Midnight?  Geeze, he went to bed pretty early by my standards.

Same. I've been ragged on by friends for wanting to go to bed at around 1:30 AM, even though I'm not a drinking guy (hate alcohol).  ::)

I initially saw the topic title and thought it said "drunk" for a second. Simply taking a few drinks, playing poker, and then going to bed at Midnight? Sounds like the story of my night-life, ideally, in a few years when I'm an accountant, give or take a few more hours. :p Oh, and speaking of going out...I'll be "on a boat" (yes like the song) Friday night, so I'll have to watch game on ESPN3 Saturday morning or something.

I can't say I'm concerned, and honestly IMO, watch him go off for 30 points, anyways. :)

Personally, this makes me feel a little better.  This is Miami.  I could list a lot of things he could be doing that would be much more damaging.

This guy saw him drink "at least a couple glasses of red wine".  That doesn't sound like binge drinking to me.

Now if this guy had pictures of Big Baby hitting up Sonic at 3am, then I would be worried.

This was hilarious LOL

Gambling + red wine does a body good, apparently.

Next time he should take the whole team out with him.

Two glasses of wine and he knocks in the gamer tonight.

I'd say he should go back and take the same writer for $3000.

 ;)

He is lowering his cholesterol and blood pressure. How can that be a bad thing?

I think he is living right.
