A couple of things I dislike and a couple of things I like about the pic.

Dislikes:

Not hanging out with teammates when chemistry has been an issue raised.

OK, there was only one dislike.

Likes:

He wasn't smashing red bull and vodkas.  It was red wine.  Assuming that it was done in moderation like the original poster mentioned, this will relax him and increase blood circulation which will actually help his body heal a bit.

It wasn't like he was playing at some crazy high stakes table.  So his stress had to be pretty low as pots probably didn't get too out of hand.  It gave him a small break from media and basketball which can help to let the basketball brain recharge.

Question: do any of you guys drink the night before going to your jobs? Only difference is, we normal people just don't have the paparazzi in our faces about it.

Pierce is a pro athlete and I trust his decision making, on and off the court. So no, I don't care.

Seems like a perfectly good way to unwind.  Playing some poker without a big entourage or hoopla.

I don't think he needs to be hanging out with his team mates either as a previous poster mentioned. I'm sure they spent plenty of time together during the day.

Bird and McHale used drink beers before and after games, and it never affected them.

Not sure if I like the idea of celtics fans taking undercover photos of celtics players and then posting them on a message boards.  Seems very paparazi to me.

this is all hearsay. the pic might be legit, but the story that goes along with it has not been validated.  he may have had a drink while playing cards, but that doesnt mean he was out late, "tipsy", and the other things the person reported.

Also we don't start work at 7:30pm at night.

I believe the guy was a Magic fan, but either way, I think it probably comes with being in the public domain.

Midnight?  Geeze, he went to bed pretty early by my standards.

It's especially no big deal because, at least judging by his chip stack, he wasn't getting too bombed to  play good poker.

Haha, that's what I was saying too. For all we know he turned in a serviceable profit that night.  :D

If it was Paul and he played Poker and drank till noon time the next day...then I would have a problem with it only if he had a poor game tonight in the yellow sub.

If it was legal, I could care less what Paul was doing at any time in his life.
