Don't get it twisted. They made a big deal about them finishing 12-2, but they only beat 2 teams above .500. Jermaine O'Neal is a dog. He's making 23 million this year and Perk is just punking him on defense. With the execption of Wade the rest of the heat players are fringe players in the NBA.

They are so offensively challenged its almost a disgrace to the NBA. All these clown reporters here in Miami thought the game was in the bag because of garnett's suspension. They failed to realize that glen davis averaged 16 pts per game last playoffs against better competition.

The heat will come out fired up on friday and wade will probably try and pull an 86 Jordan, but as long as we stay focused mentally we should be able to drop the hammer. Spolestra has nowhere to turn, his options are almost down to nothing. It's great living down here rubbing it in everyone's faces. They actually think the heat are good. We need to drive the nail in friday night!!! Go celtics!!

While I hate raining on parades, this is true. Miami is not a good team. Neither is Milwaukee (now), or Chicago.

That said, this is how teams that are winners handle teams that are inferior to them. This is still a very good sign.

Agreed.  Miami may be a fairly mediocre team, but we struggled to beat teams worse than them for 2/3rds of this season.  I'm very happy to see the Celts dominate them.

This game shows me that Ainge was right on the "lack of effort" excuse, age was not as big as a factor as it seemed to be, and the Celtics strategy was not to get injured by going half-ass during the regular season. KG is healthy, the team is healthy and as Pierce said, that was the C's main goal going into the playoffs. My expectations for the Celtics have risen. I expect a hard-fought, long series against the Cavs at worst.

Probably the best game of the season if you ask me.  The series isn't in the bag yet, but I feel pretty darn good.

I'm not ready to say I feel good about the C's beating the Cavs if they make it to the second round, but if they keep playing like this...who knows?

  • You know my methods, Watson.
We've seen stuff like this before...  It could very well be that we come back to Boston tied 2-2.  Teams have come back from this kind of thing (anyone recall 1995? - C's get mauled in Orlando 124-77 in game 1, but then win by 7 in game 2 ... or what immediately followed the Memorial Day Massacre in 1985).

I'm not ready to write the Heat off just yet...this Celtics team struggled all season with focus, and I'm not convinced they're over that just yet.

I agree, it's definitely not over yet.  But if the Celtics win one of the next two games, it will be.  The C's have all of the momentum right now, and with KG coming back on Friday, the Celtics are in great position to put the Heat to bed.
