I agree that baby should dust off that mid range jumper from last year.

I am interested to see if Sheed is capable of stepping up the way he said he would come playoffs.

Shelden could be a great 'go to' if option A and B aren't doing so hot tonight. Shells will crash the boards, give us more size than Baby and hustle more than Sheed.

I would have preferred Rasheed or Scalabrine to get the start.

Glen Davis hurts the defense without bringing enough to the table offensively to make up for it.

Isn't that what people said about Sheed?

Like always, it depends on who you ask, right?  ::)

When Sheed commits to working the low post, he's a pretty big asset out there.  Add to the fact, that Beasley will be guarding and there is some incentive there to start him.  On the defensive end, he's not undersized going up against anyone.

I was under the assumption that Doc wanted to keep the choice secret...

Glen Davis and Rasheed Wallace are both below average defensive power forwards and neither player can adequately defend the pick and roll against a Wade + a jump shooting big man (Beasley/Haslem).

Rasheed is more than an average defensively. Are you saying that he's above average as a Center? and not as good at the 4?

Sheed gets toasted by anybody with speed and is a slower team defender than Davis. Sheed and Perkins is not the best defensive combo in the world to prevent Wade from getting to the rim on a high pick and roll.

I think this move just shows that Doc is thinking about Defense first. Sure, Sheed would likely get some nice looks vs. Beasley, but Doc's got that defensive mind and I like that.

Davis played an entire series against D-Rose and they did a pretty good job of adjusting. I'd say that Rose OFFENSIVELY is like a smaller, not quite as good version of Wade.

He's well below average at either position at this stage of his career.  Feet don't move!

Wow.  Rasheed is a Great defender.  Just not as quick as he used to be, but its not like Davis is a speed demon.  I'd stick with Rasheed.

I would have started Sheed as well.  He would give Beasley something to think about on offense and believe it or not, would do a better job of defending him.  BBD has no chance of guarding Beasly at all.

If all we worry about is who defends Beasley best, Scal should start over both of them. Maybe he could give Richardson a cheapshot while he is in there.

If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

I rather start Sheed for a couple of reasons. First, because he would give Beasely more problems offensively than Davis would. I don't think either matches up particularly well defensively with Beasely, so I prefer to get with the Sheed for an offensive edge. Also, I think that this would've provided some extra motivation for Sheed to step up an assert himself in KG's role. Should this even be a thought at this stage in the game? No, but we're talking about Sheed so you just don't know.

X's and O's here...

Why is that when Sheed is fronted we don't put a shooter (Pierce or Ray) on the strong side of the ball, in the corner, to have the better angle for the entry pass? This is hard to explain on a keyboard, but Rondo (for example) would have the ball on the wing in order to make the entry pass to Sheed. However, since Wallace is being fronted there is no angle to make the pass. In addition, what makes this even more difficult is that Wallace no longer has good hops so a lob to the basket is basically out of the question. This happened over and over in offensive sets in Game 1. Doc and Co. did a poor job in adjusting and failed to bring over a shooter to the corner (triangle offense of sorts) to counter the strategy. Instead, the ball was swung over to the weakside and Wallace would rotate to set a high screen, on that side, for the ballhander. Bottom line, mismatch inside was constantly abandoned.

For those of you in the Sheed should start camp you should calm down. Sheed will still see a lot of time.

Even if Baby is starting does anyone think he will play more than 30-35 minutes? That is usually the amount of time Perk plays. I think even with Baby starting Sheed will get his shot to play 30+ minutes if he shows that he's actually going to try tonight instead of what he's been doing all year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon

A post entry pass from the corner is an even more difficult angle for a post entry pass. You also leave the passer open to being trapped. Basically you want to avoid the corners unless you are spotting up for an open jumper.

I'm not sure why people think Davis won't be an offensive challenge for Beasley.  Listed at 6'9'' and just 235 lbs, Beasley is probably one of the few power forwards in the league that Davis isn't at a big size disadvantage against.  BBD should be able to back him down completely under the rim.  Of course, Baby'll have to watch out for the guy coming behind to block his shot.
