I figured I'd start this thread now before somebody inevitably posts it after the playoffs. :P

LOL!!  Saw this coming...

But seriously...big props to Tony - he played a nice game tonight.

Great game by Tony, and I hope it continues, but it's a bit early to make this call, I think ... this is a guy who is incredibly injury-prone. Let's hope this lasts.

Heh...yeah, I know, but I kind of posted it to be ironic.

If it wasn't you, it would've been someone else ... might just as well get it over with, Pos. ;)

He certainly has some major incentive here ... whatever happens, the playoffs are a great place to showcase your talent and increase your value, and the "6th Star Award" didn't hurt, either. Even if we don't end up re-signing him, he'll be a much more valuable asset.

We've seen the Tony Allen of 2006-07 this season, and I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be re-signed this summer.

Why wouldn't Danny re-sign TA?
He plays hard, is a great defender(a rare commodity), puts the team first, and will have a very reasonable salary.
That's why it's obvious to me that Danny will let him go in order to sign some overrated washed-up out-of-shape ex-star for twice the money ;) Nothing against either one of these guys, just using them as examples, but I really hope Danny doesn't sign someone like Andre Miller or Grant Hill(or Marquis Daniels!).
Anyway, sorry if it seems that I don't get the joke, but I'm just happy to see TA playing well.

Let's not overreact. Clearly someone fighting for a contract... (see Stoudamire, Amare).

I don't thinks so, he lets the game come to him, plays hard, does whatever Doc asks him to and he doesn't have that "I'm in a contract year" look

I think this is the best year Tony has had, because he finally knows his role.  I'm glad he's had a healthy year, allowing him to finally get into a groove.

I like Tony as a fall-back option but I would rather see a shooter on the wing.

I would be 100% behind re-signing him if the C's didn't have a non-shooter like Rondo as their point guard.

If Tony keeps playing like this, he might make some real money. There will be a lot of teams that don't land the Lebron type FA that would be willing to pay more than Danny can afford for TA. If he keeps showcasing like this. :o
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Sign and Trade. I'm not getting fooled by a player in a contract year. Leave that too the other suckers. If it turns out that he continues this type of play the most we missed out on was a good bench player and decent starter.
