They're always portraying C's as the bad guys. The bias they have against the C's makes me sick. All their commentators have beef against the Celtics. And now stirring up a fake controversy to get KG suspended. Even a blind man can see, KG was protecting a defenseless Pierce laying on the floor. What is their Deal?

ESPN isn't a news agency in the traditional sense, they are part of the NBA hype machine.

Agreed.

The only one that is somewhat fair is Tim Legler.

Even Michael Wilbon was burying the Celtics last week.

  • Rondo = Good
I thought Hubie Brown spent more time than not gushing over the C's during tonight's game.  Mike Tirico seems pretty neutral to me, too.

Plus you can't ignore Ric Bucher, who has picked the C's to make the ECF.  All of the experts on ESPN.com picked the Celtics to win this series too.

Well said. Hubie is always going to gush both ways. He would much rather point out the good than the bad, just his style. I like him as a commetator a lot. One of the better ones out there. Tirico isn't biased as much as he is just a bad NBA play-by-play guy, period. He is a golf guy and has somehow been thrust into the NBA and football at which he is better than the NBA though still nothing to write home about.

Wow ... I keep forgetting that some people don't get to watch with Tommy and Mike, (on CSNNE) ... it's a shame, cuz they add so much to the game!

I had to choose between watching the game on tv (espn) or via stream (Tommy and Mike). I picked the first option and I won't be making that mistake again.

<rolls eyes>

The ESPN announcers and analysts, all of whom are strong individual personalities, are not in some sort of groupthink s conspiracy against the Celtics.

I can't believe anyone actually believes this.

How is this a conspiracy? They just paint the C's as the evil guys. When Q-Rich instigated this ish. KG this and  KG that, meanwhile Miami entire team ganging up on our guys. Yes, they have BIAS & it showed.

Believe that if you want. I think it's ludicrous. Hubie praised the Celtics a lot (like he has all year). So did Tirico.

I think Hubie and Tirico (Hubie and anyone but Breen really) make a good team. I don't get the sense they are unbiased and they are knowledgeable and keep the discussion on basketball. Besides Hubie loves Rondo and Perk.

Tirico I can forgive since he assumed Richardson went to check on Pierce out of the goodness of his heart  ::) Obviously he's never watched Richardson play the Celtics or read his post-game comments about us. He probably went over spouting some more nonsense about how the Celtics wouldn't make it in the streets or something.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

I must be the only one who likes Mike Breen.
