If there weren't a heaping of truth in it, he wouldn't be so annoying.

"I hope I'm wrong"

I really hate when people do this. I somehow don't believe that.  I think you just wrote that you hope you're wrong because if you are you will look like a complete moron for completely crapping on your home team.

Simmons is so past his best before date it's not even funny. He's the container that's been in your fridge for eight months (sorry I couldn't think of a Teen Wolf or Top Gun analogy).

Miami has an advantage at 1 position. Thats it! Sure Wade is going to get his, despite the C's throwing Ray, TA, Daniels, etc at him.

But on the flip side:

Perkins vs Jermaine O'Neal?
Garnett vs Beasley?
Rondo vs Arroyo????

and...

Pierce vs Q Richardson???? Are you freaking kidding me??

Advantage: Celtics

Simmons must not have watched the Cavs game from a couple of weeks ago where we destroyed the Cavs for most of the game before finally winning it again at the end. Yeah, I know, the Cavs were without a few players but the C's have been all season. A lot of analysts will be surprised at what this team is still capable of.

We're spoiled in this town. We've had miracle runs by the red sox & patriots this decade.  I think this explains why so many fans think the C's will just it on in the playoffs.  But those kind of runs/comebacks happen once every 15 or 20 years normally. the rest of the time, "you are what you are" rings true, espically in 7 game series's. This is going to end badly for this team. The writing has been on the wall since january. When this team is getting smoked by 20 in the 3rd qtr of game 5 vs cleveland and about to go on vacation, i'm going to shake my head thinking that
this run is history. And in closing, i wouldn't be shocked if the Heat won this series.  Would any of you??

The Celtics haven't done anything to earn the right to be the consensus favorite to win the series. All they really have is the idea that they've been saying they were going to flip this switch. Whether it's true or not we find out Saturday, but you can't just give the C's the benefit of the doubt when they've had numerous chances this season to earn that.

I've said the C's will in 5. But, they could win in 7, who knows?

I feel like people are letting their inner Bill Simmons hate  leak into their posts.

Hell I take the Celts 2002 ECF team over this year's squad.  That 2002 team played hard and with heart and passion.  This 2009-2010 Celtic team is not likeable at all.

Another reason why I try to avoid his vitriole these days.

I unfollowed him on Twitter because he was so irritating with his petulance and egotism. Sadly, this does not prevent me from receiving retweets.

If the Celtics win the series and Simmons pulls out his "jinx" card once again, I will lose whatever respect I have left for him as a writer. I don't mind him "hating" on the Celts once in a while, but he has to stand by with what he writes. No more of that "It was a reverse jinx blah blah blah.." crap.

Sounds like he had one too many Purple and Yellow margueritas (that taste and smell like vomit) at the local Los Angelos Mexican Pub.

The beatings will continue until morale improves

Doesn't matter.

I know that Simmons don't believe some of the stuff he says, so this is a case of that.
