I liked this article.  Maybe some cause for optimism (for once).

TP Very good article.

KG is such a fierce competitor . Even if he's not able to do certain thing like before, you can still count on him to be there when matters.

I know from having acl reconstruction that the second year was much better than the first. You have to wonder though at 33 with 15 years of pro basketball how much longer he can go?

Well supposedly the surgery was just them removing bone spurs, I thought, but who knows what it really was?

I'm actually pretty positive KG will show up come play-off time, intensity-wise. This is the first time he's been back in the playoffs since our championship year may I remind you, that'll get him amped up for sure. But I don't think this team realistically has a chance this year.

I mean, next year I think we see a refreshed KG. Not the dominating KG, but he'll play a much better and he'll look much more fluid than he has this year. I think the knee has really been an issue all season long like most of us (and this article) have pointed out. And depending on what happens to the bench and how healthy people people are next year maybe we can ride some of that re-juvenated KG into some success.. Wishful thinking probably  :-\

Maybe it's just that I'm really dying for this team to spring back to life, I was watching highlights from 07-08 season, including the finals just a few minutes ago and it really brought tears to my eyes, the intensity, the heart, jaw-dropping stuff.

Nice article though. Always been a fan of Scoop Jackson's work.

My question is, based on what we were told about the injury, if KG's knee isn't better by now, will it ever be?  He didn't undergo microfracture surgery, and he didn't tear his ACL - at least as far as we've been told.  I just don't know.

It's nice to imagine the possibility of a Spurs-esque kind of revival from the injuries of old age, though, assuming Danny can add some solid role players to complement the aged core (questionable after the last couple of years).

We'll probably never know what happened as far as KG's knee procedure goes. That's pretty frustrating, so it is really hard to put a time frame on exactly when he should be/should've been completely recovered.. I also think it's possible to get some younger talent around this team, but I guess it's high unlikely. I just don't want to go back to the cellar of the NBA. Most of us know what that's like, and I don't want to go back there. But at this pace, and what Danny has said in regards to how well this team perform's in the playoffs will determine if he makes some major moves this offseason, I can assure you the cellar door is not too far away.
