Here goes:

I have been watching around 15 to 20 games on NBAILP this season. I bought the package at the beginning of the season, so I really think it's been worth the while for me. But... I just found out I won't be able to buy single games on NBAILP. That had originally been my plan, as it's very hard (i.e. next to impossible) for me to catch games on work days because of the time difference (I am six hours ahead of most of you, at least those on Boston time). I have a hard time figuring out if I should buy the whole playoffs package, which is $99.95. I usually only catch the Celtics games anyway, as my 19-month old son and my girlfriend demand (and deserve, of course) a lot of my time. Those of you on European time know hard it is to watch games, now couple that with having a young boy who doesn't know how to sleep late.

I still feel that the Celtics may go far in the playoffs but if they don't I would really feel like I flushed a lot of money down the toilet, and even if they do, it's just not the same watching the replay of a game. Plus, I'd have to stay far away from CelticsBlog (maybe even computers in general) to not know the score of a game before I watched it. That would suck. I had planned to just buy single games as long as the Celtics were still in it (the first one being on Saturday). There's no way I can squeeze in an NBA replayed game on a normal work day. Such is the reality for a European C's fan  ???

What to do? Any advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

That's tough.  I think the question to ask is, can you justify spending $10 or so per game.  If you're okay with dropping $100 for two rounds of playoff action, then go for it.  If you can only justify it if the Celts will go deeper, then I'd probably pass this year.

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be a lot of legal options for you.  I'm assuming there aren't sports bars or other public places you'd be able to check out the games, even if you were willing to leave your family at that hour (something I'm not endorsing).

Thanks, Roy, that's worth a Tommy Point.

I guess I'll have to look at it that way. And no, no sports bars or anything, just ME, the PC and CB  :) I wouldn't go anyway, even if they did show the games.

If you're desperate I'm sure there will be places you can find online that will stream some of the games.

Fair enough, though I actually don't know of any specific sites so I couldn't actually link to them or cite them, nor would I.

If you have the cash, buy the package.

So ACF, break down a normal day for you when the Celtics play.

Like Tuesday 4/20, they play at 8pm EST so that would be 2am Wednesday your time?

Do you work a typical 9-5, M-F type of job?

So I'm just wondering if you get up at like 6am or 7am, go to work for 8-9 hours, go home, spend time with family, do miscellaneous chores (mow the lawn, work out, etc.), then do you go to bed like 10pm-11pm THEN wake up at 2am for the C's and stay up till like 5am, then go back to bed for like another hour, or just stay up and go straight to work?

Just wondering how it all goes down for you my man.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Yes, that's how a typical day is for me. Except I can't ever watch work day games, it's just too hard, I get too tired. That's why I'm in this dilemma, because it would only be weekend games.

Don't know if you know but I'm in Denmark. We only get Sunday games here on national TV.

I've been thinking about this all day...

I am going to do it. This is our last stand. We can get to the Finals again. My financial stuation should not come in the way of me following the Celtics once again. KG is healthy, PP is healthy, man... everyone is healthy. Like Jeff said: NO. MORE. EXCUSES.
