Glen Davis has now played in 198 NBA games.  That means he's played against the same players and tried to make the same plays over and over and over again.  So, when Davis gets the ball 5 feet from the basket, takes a power dribble to get right underneath the hoop and then tries to power up between two taller players to score...what the BLEEP does he think is going to happen?

I know what's going to happen.  Everyone in the stands knows what's going to happen.  Everyone watching on TV knows what's going to happen.  Even everyone listening on radio knows what's going to happen.  He's going to get his shot blocked.  Why is it that after 198 games and it happening to him dozens and dozens of times, Big Baby remains ignorant that him+layup+two taller defenders=shot block?

Not true. You must not have been watching closely. About half the time now, he gets those balls in, in spite of being surrounded by 3 or 4 guys.

What about when Perk, KG, Sheed act like a baby and throw a temper tantrum and Perk and Sheed get all those technicals for it?

He has put a few more in the last month, but half is definitely an exaggeration. Maybe 1 in 3. Even at half that is pretty pitiful % for right under the basket.

I would say on most nights Perk contributes so he's allowed to. Sheed is ridiculous and shouldn't even be brought up.

Making a layup half the time is not something to be proud of. He shouldn't take that shot, it's dumb. Getting a basket half the time when you're surrounded by 3 or 4 guys doesn't make you great for making the shot... it makes you an idiot for taking the shot because you would have had multiple teammates wide open if 3 or 4 guys are guarding you.

Not really. Same things happens to KG now and to Perk very often. The reason I think the improvement is a good thing is because it shows he's working on it. And Matt, most fans believe he contributes a lot, as I do.
I only wish he'd get more looks for his jumper, which he has been calling for in games lately.

Don't get me wrong, I love Big Baby, he puts in a ton of energy on the boards, his jumper is great when he takes it, he is all about the team. The problem is... he works hardest on the boards... gets a rebound, and then goes for a layup when 4 guys are on him and all of his teammates are wide open... and then half the time he gets blocked... that's is a bad decision, and a waste of a good opportunity.

As far as the temper tantrums... I'm talking about things like crying on the bench, yelling at fans, body slamming a Kings player a few weeks ago... things like that. Yelling and staring at the refs are the "temper tantrums" that Sheed and Perk have and I don't think you can compare the two.

Cryin' o the bench? That was 2 years ago. Get over it, Matt.
Yelling at a fan who was heckling him over and over again till the fan was finally taken out by security? I don't blame him a bit. Getting in the face of a player......think of KG, Perk, PP, Rhondo, Sheed.
Contributions? BBD is the most consistent player off the bench. Where have you been?

According to 82games.com, KG gets his shot blocked close to the basket or on dunks 6% of the time.  Perk gets his inside shots blocked 13% of the time.  I also thought of a few undersized PF/Cs off the top of my head and checked how often their inside shot attempts are blocked.  Undonis Haslem was 13%.  Carl Landry was 18%.  Jason Maxiell was 15%.

Big Baby gets his shot blocked inside 25% of the time.

Do you defend Sasha Vujacic crying on the bench too?

Once again, I like Big Baby... and I told you why I like him as a player.

He cried on the bench when KG tried to get him in the huddle a couple years ago... He yelled at a fan (I believe this season). Sure the fan got thrown out but if my memory is correct, he got fined as well, so obviously some people don't support him yelling at a fan. He didn't get in somebody's face. Weeks ago he threw a player to the ground like he was wrestling because he got frustrated. I'm sorry but he's a bit of a baby.

He couldn't play the beginning of the season because he fought somebody while driving a car... that is reckless!!! You don't think he still has a little bit of growing up to do? These things keep happening, it's not like all of this happened his rookie season.

lol TP... and that number was a lot higher earlier this season. It was at about 35% at one point I think.

Yeah, Matt, it's obvious how much you love BBD!
Bringing up things that happened 2 years ago and telling him to grow up? That's makes a lot of sense...not.
And so far as his percentage of blocked shots, I said he had been improving on that and he has. the percentage numbers won't show that.

On top of that, its not that Davis is just missing, he's getting stuffed. Blocks, big time dunks and big time threes have momentum changing power.

A block shot fires up the opponents crowd - especially when they get to jeer Davis. The block boosts the confidence of the opposing team, and demoralizes the Celtics.
