There have been several threads about this (and this is the first one that I've stumbled across). However, despite the fact that I was using this as a rallying call like many others, I'm now thinking the comparison isn't all that spot-on. While it's certainly way too early to count our chickens, with the '69 Celtics it was pretty clear that it was the team's last hurrah. However, after going 12-5 in the playoffs so far, this team looks like anything but on it's last leg. Right now, win or lose, next series, it looks like this team has a good 1-2 years left of contending.
And unlike the '69 C's, our defensive stalwart isn't retiring after this year.
