...why am I down in my series? (BDM860 leads ZeroPhase 2/1) I thought it was over and under- Chandler definitely won under. I should be up 1. Otherwise, I'm really really confused.

Also I choose Danilo Gallinari: 15.6

Chandler only scored 3 points, his average is 15.3, so he was -12.3 for the game ... Harden scored 10 points, his average is 12.2, so he was only -2.2, which is 10.1 points MORE than what Chandler scored NET ... Harden's net was a higher score, so he was the winner. This game is all about getting the MOST points you can, not the least. Hope that clarifies. :)

But I thought it was over and under so greatest difference wins.... as in absolute difference... that's how the regular season worked. I don't understand why the "playoffs" is different.

Become Legendary.

No, it's always been about the highest score, not the biggest difference, even in the regular season. The lowest scores got "Doodies", which is not meant as a good score, but just to make the lowest scorer not feel so bad. Nobody ever won with the lowest score, always the highest. The reason it's "Over-Under", means that the highest score could be a negative number, (say, -2.0), as long as the rest were worse, (like -3.0, -4.0, etc.). I had the worst negative score of the season, but I didn't win a game with it, I just got a Doody. :)

well that's boring... also the statistical likely hood of having the lowest score is the same as the likely hood of having the highest score. therefore both should be rewarded equally.

Become Legendary.

Don't shoot the messenger ... I should let Redz explain it, it's his idea and his rules, I'm just trying to explain as best I can. I don't think there's anything in the rules that says you can win with a lower negative score, or the biggest net difference, it's all about seeing how well a player can perform ABOVE his average, not below.

2011 PAPOUG Playoffs

** Leaders are marked in red, followers are marked in blue, and ties are marked in purple - in case of a tie, the total points difference decides the winner. Net scores are marked in black. Missing your pick/late picks/DNPs will result in a score five points less than that of your opponent's. **

...why am I down in my series?

Um, nope, perhaps the name of the game is misleading, but the rules are no different for game to game scoring for the playoffs than they've been all season.  The idea is to get the highest OVER score.
Yup

Reseeding may be difficult since not all series start/end at the same time.  I know the transition from first to second round was hectic last year without reseeding.

And it looks like reseeding will happen with Bahku and my troubles  :(

MEM - Zach Randolph: 20.1

GreenBean and BDM860 still need to get their picks in for tonight's games ... just a reminder. :)

The list for tomorrow's, (and today's), games is below ... I'll be updating them so it's always one day ahead, and everyone will have plenty of time to get their picks in.

Thanks!

Reseeding may be difficult since not all series start/end at the same time.  I know the transition from first to second round was hectic last year without reseeding.

And it looks like reseeding will happen with Bahku and my troubles  :(

MEM - Zach Randolph: 20.1

There may need to be some contingency picks at some point, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.  Two rounds going at the same time is going to be a little difficult no matter how we slice it.

Yeah, the way it's shaping up, there will definitely be two rounds going at once, and the contingency pick thing is really the only way to get around it. Actually, I think it makes it a bit more exciting ... we'll see when we get there, I guess. ;)
