  • It's not hard to work hard.
I gotta admit... even though I haven't watched the game tonight... if I were Doc, I'd play the starters during these last minutes. Rub their noses in the crap they've created.  Let them soak in the boos....

The bench deserves a lot of blame for tonight's masterpiece too.

Yeah, it was the bench that gave up that 19-0 run. The worst +/- rates on the team are BBD and Finley. Shelden actually was the best.  Sheed was comparitively pretty good, ironically.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

Wow...KG looks like CRAP tonight....crap

As bad as KG was, Baby has found a way to be even worse.  Worst defensive performance of the year from Baby.  Completely flummoxed by Blatche, ineffective on the glass.

I'd like to add Paul Pierce to this list.

PP has stunk since the injury

Unlike BBD whose defense has always stunk.

I wonder what a Garnett + Dalembert combination would be like defensively. Is Dalembert athletic enough as a five to offset KG's declining athleticism at the four?

Would it be more effective than a Perk + Garnett combination?

I think so.  Although Sammy's motor has been questioned.
Yeah, I agree, I think it would be more effective than KG + Perk too.

Would it be more effective than Garnett + possible new power forward? Say KG + Ty Thomas? Yeah, probably. Better defensively and on the glass. Worse in transition and largely comparable offensively.

More athleticism on the wing might tip the balance the other way though.
I would trade Perk for a pick and a player(Detroit, OKC, Utah)and offer the MLE to Brendan Haywood

Haywood's a pure 5.  His athleticism would be a slight boost, but we'd still be slow overall.

I'm convinced that KG has to switch to the 5 for us to add the significant quickness we need to in the short-term.  He's too slow at the 4, especially with Ray and Pierce at the 2/3.

I'm not sure I'm interested in bringing back Ray Allen next season.

I'm especially hesitant to bring him back in a starting role.

Seriously, he can be so effective when he looks for his own shot... He's trying too hard to be unselfish, IMO.

Fixed it for you-----hard to do when he's on the bench all the time---while Doc WEARS out Rondo.

I'm especially hesitant to bring him back in a starting role.

By not trading him at the deadline, we've pretty much locked ourselves into resigning. We just don't have much cap flexibility to do much else. Unless someone hands us something in a sign and trade, Ray will likely be a Celtic next season.

I'm tired of Greg Dickerson interviewing players from OTHER teams at the end.
