I just can't see why Nate and BBD have NOT played...and where is TA?....he was the ONLY Celtic playing hard in the 1st half.

I gotta admit... even though I haven't watched the game tonight... if I were Doc, I'd play the starters during these last minutes. Rub their noses in the crap they've created.  Let them soak in the boos....

I wonder what a Garnett + Dalembert combination would be like defensively. Is Dalembert athletic enough as a five to offset KG's declining athleticism at the four?

Would it be more effective than a Perk + Garnett combination?

I think so.  Although Sammy's motor has been questioned.
Yeah, I agree, I think it would be more effective than KG + Perk too.

Would it be more effective than Garnett + possible new power forward? Say KG + Ty Thomas? Yeah, probably. Better defensively and on the glass. Worse in transition and largely comparable offensively.

More athleticism on the wing might tip the balance the other way though.

I think Ty Thomas's elite defensive potential and the importance of a transition game with Rondo would give Ty a significant long-term edge.  A KG-TY-Perk trio is still good on the boards and more versatile defensively.

The bench deserves a lot of blame for tonight's masterpiece too.

  • It's not hard to work hard.
Ha, BBD picking up where he left off defensively.
McHale's favorite ruse is putting paper in the mouths of sleeping teammates. "Try using one of these cocktail napkins," he said. "When just the edge sticks out of a guy's mouth, it looks like he's got fangs. The best part is when he wakes up."

As bad as KG was, Baby has found a way to be even worse.  Worst defensive performance of the year from Baby.  Completely flummoxed by Blatche, ineffective on the glass.

yup.
Surprisingly, it was mostly just him not making smart plays. I thought I'd never say that about KG.

I would trade Perk for a pick and a player(Detroit, OKC, Utah)and offer the MLE to Brendan Haywood

I fully expect Dallas to re-up Haywood... I think he was the real win in that deal.

I don't think Haywood is going to be available for the MLE.

There was talk of the Mavericks offering him around $8 million per annum to stay long term.

This is one of those games where it'll really make me mad if Doc continues to say in the post-game press conference that it all starts with stops, getting stops, playing defense.  Sure thats true, but the fact that he never even slightly mentions offense is a disgrace.

THINK ABOUT OFFENSE DOC, AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT
