And, sadly, this is what our season boils down to. Sad but true.

No, it doesn't. If the Celts don't win a banner this year, it won't because of nebulous things like "passion" or "hunger".  It'll be down to things like "they turn the ball over too much" "they don't have bench scoring" and "Kevin Garnett's injury took away their most dominating presence on defense".  I hate when people talk about "swagger" and "desire" and whatnot.  That's stuff is about building a team. Winning is about execution.

I can certainly understand the angst about the refs..seems like they have had it in for us in several games this year.

My thing is this: If they are dirty, then it will come back on them..

The last thing the NBA needs is to have David Stern sitting before Congress.

That wouldn't be good at all.

David Stern in front of Congress? I'd love it. Get him the hell away from my NBA.

I figure that the NFL and ML Baseball have been before Congress..it is only a matter of time before we get cleaned up, too.

I think I would actually feel better KNOWING the NBA officiating was crooked. Because if it is and these guys just aren't incompetent, then I could feel good growing old knowing that David Stern will eventually be found out to be fixing games and feel good knowing he will die an old man sitting in a 6' x 8' cell.

Pierce mentioned the FT discrepancy too. Those guys were PO-ED. I mean they were MAD!!!

Can you blame them?....it's one thing when you get out played...but when a game is STOLEN from you---I'd be fuming too-!!

Crazy thing is we didn't get it the worst tonight. Cleveland took 45 ft's to the Bucks' 9. WOW. Jarring numbers.

Swagger is a huge factor. Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Lebron, the 2004 Pistons, the 2008 Celtics... swagger, baby. You have to play great first, but then that filthy swagger can beat teams before a game begins.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm not going to consider this year a failure if the Celtics don't win it all. Maybe I just have too many Vin Baker and Dino Radja memories, but I've enjoyed watching this team play when they've had it going. Tonight was a great game despite the terrible officiating, and all in all this team has continued to be professional, to play as a unit, to not snipe at one another or at the media...I dunno, just being Zen I guess.

It matters, but it doesn't win you a championship.  Being the best team does.  I've watched plenty of U.Miami football teams. They all had "swagger." The 2002 team wasn't the best in college fb history because they had more swagger or passion. They were the best because they had the best players.  I dunno. Pet peeve. :/

During the past few weeks, I'm seeing that passion / energy / swagger coming back though.

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing a home crowd making some freaking noise in the playoffs. The energy ffrom the crowd is worse then what I am seeing from the team.

C'mon Boston! We're so close to getting another title. Lets chew the refs out when they do a bad job!

You make a good point..I survived the Bias and Lewis tragedies...and held my breath when Pierce had the nightclub thing happen.

I still believe we can do this, though..it just seems like the regular season is taking forever to get over.

I really believe that the officiating will get better in the playoffs.

We've been looking fantastic for a couple of weeks now, and I'm LOVING it.
