I think the weak link this year is the fans. We aren't bringing it like we were in 2008. We were rabid that year. Now we get bored and the Garden gets quite when we have a lead or if we are down. That Utah crowd was rabid and willed there team to victory the other night. They effected The Refs and the players. That's why Utah is so tough at home. We fans need to rev up the Celtics if they get "Bored" or start doubting themselves. The fans have to be big in the playoffs and the Garden crowd hasn't really brought it this year. We are Lucky and we need to show it! Go Celtics!!!!!

Agreed---in 2-3 years, we'll look back at this as a Golden Time--and be sorry we didn't Bring down the House more often!

The 80's crowds ALWAYS Brought it-!!

The 80's crowds ( which I was one of...) always brought it. It was loud all during the 80's!

I disagree. There is definitely not the same intensity from the fans as there was in 08 that is true, however the lack of effort by the team in their own building for a very large chunk of games was the reason. There is no question that injuries were the cause of some of our misfortune, however the team was not giving it 100%. How can they expect the fans to overlook poor effort and cheer them on? Those boos were some of the best medicine that this team got, because shortly after you saw a clear jump in their efforts win or lose. I commend the crowd for not putting up with the poor product that was in front of them and demanding more. Now it appears we have something to cheer for.

I live in Seattle now so I have to rely on Celtics Blog to get all my information and to communicate with fellow Celtics fans. They show track and field, Pac 10 girls softball, and British Soccer over NBA in Seattle Sports Bars. The NBA is a taboo subject out here.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I think the boos where well deserved for that loss against Memphis. But even when we've play well and been killing some other team the lack of excitement and energy has not been there from the crowd. I haven't seen one deafening night in the Garden all this year. Our fans look bored with he regular season and given all the injuries we've suffered, we've had a really good year. we could easily wind up in the 3 spot and have a shot at a tittle. Even last year we seemed more into it. If the fans can't come in and raise the roof when this team is playing well, and lift them up when they stumble a little bit then they aren't doing there jobs. Fans play a big part in home court advantage. If the fans are effecting the game with there reactions and cheers then you might just as well be on the road. where in most cases the fans of the good teams are rabid. ( See Orlando and Utah not San Antonio and LA) Our biggest wins this year have come on the road. Our fans are starting to sound like LA fans and I'm calling them out. It should be deafening in the Garden from now until the end of the season. I'll do my part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me count some of the ways:

1: Mike Gorman is HANDS DOWN the BEST play by play guy in the NBA--and Tommy is a Treasure too.

2: We have an Amazing group of people handling our Beloved Team right now...The Owners, Danny Ainge, Doc and his crew...(Let's never forget the Gaston/Pitino/Gavitt/ML Carr years)

3: Games are literally at our fingertips, with DVR's, Tivos,Comcast/Directv,HD Plasma's,DVD Box sets, etc....I grew up with maybe 6-7 games a year broadcast on National TV---That is of course, until the TAPE DELAYED Playoff games came around.

4: The UNSELFISH Players we have---All Stars who ONLY care about the team.

5: All of you guys on Celticsblog...My "Real-Life" friends don't understand the Celtics obsession.

6: we are NOT Lakers Fans-!

I can't complain and I agree we are pretty lucky.

I'm a bit bigger fan of Tommy than I am of Mike's who appears to have hardened a bit over the years.  Tommy still has that joy in his voice (homer true and true) whereas Mike has that it's been 3 years and they really need to wow me (rondo behind the back pass) to get me excited feel to him.

Finally someone said it lol TP Jeff...

We couldn't be any more lucky, we're fans of the Great NBA Franchise ever, with the hardest working and hard nosed players.

I love Gorman, but I think Ralph Lawler is #1. I use to stay up many a night, when I was in college, listening to Lawler and Bill Walton announce Clippers games. Always great stuff.

But I do feel lucky that I'm a Celtic fan in 2010. We may or may not win a championship but ownership is at least willing to try for own.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
