Couldn't let this game (Utah) go by without mentioning the way Baby played last night. When he stepped out on the court, he looked confident and in control and I had a feeling he was going to have a great game. And he sure did! Here is a portion of what was said on NBA.com/Celtics last night:
_______________________________________________________________
FROM NBA/CELTICS.COM-Ford Keys to the Game:

"The one Celtic who has shown the greatest amount of hustle all season long has been Glen Davis, and he had that type of play on full display tonight, specifically in the first half. Davis finished the game with 13 points and five rebounds in only 19 minutes of play. Nine of those points came in a span of 3:30 of the first quarter, a time period in which he showed continual energy at both sides of the court. That spurt helped the Celtics build a lead going into the second quarter, but he and his teammates couldn't replicate that type of hustle and energy for the remainder of the game, allowing the Jazz to pull out another win at home."
______________________________________________________________

Until he got hit in the nose in the 3rd qtr (no foul called against Utah, unfortunately), he was our leading scorer and every play he made, whether blocking and causing the other team to foul, being able to get the shot up in the paint while being boxed with no defense coming to help, hitting 3 out of 4 field goals, hitting 7 out of 7 free throws, 5 rebounds and 1 assist, defending the basket and screening, he was amazing. We are definately going to need him in the playoffs. He is the most consistent player off the bench and always attempts to crash the offensive glass. He's usually the highest scorer off the bench also.

The starters just weren't out there and I think, on nights like these, we need to send in the bench. When I saw the 4th qtr. was not going anywhere, I wondered why Doc didn't put the bench in for the whole qtr.

The first half was as good as I have ever seen BBD play. He was absolutely amazing. Every facet of his game in that first half was what all the Celtics fan hope for. Hustle + results. He was so-so in the second half, however it was hard to stop that train they got hit with. Not really his fault.

I have been real hard on BBD, but the last 4-5 games he has definitely started playing better. He is even finishing around the rim better. Keep it up BBD. We need those results off the bench. I will say though that Shelden did look good while in there as well. Hopefully that keeps BBD looking over his shoulder and working hard.

I agree with OP, TP to you.  I think that BBD is our answer to Varajao. We need an energy bunny, and he is the guy to do it. Love his hustle.

Thanks EJ and footey. I guess with a loss, most people don't feel in a grateful mood and don't feel like responding to this post.

I agree with what you said. BBD def was amazing last night...and even I was surprised that no foul was called when he got elbowed.

Tp for your write up.

And I also agree with Footey about the Varajao comment.
