I'm still a Powe fan, but i've watched him closely since he's come back. He's not moving as smooth as he did and his jumping is alot more limited now. He's actually relying more on his body and FT shots instead of put backs.

Even though I respect Powe for his BBall skills I respect him more for what he's had to overcome. He remains happy even know it's only a matter of time his knee goes again, but he still keeps pushing which is amazing.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

I'm happy for Powe although I don't think comparing Powe's season to Big Baby makes any sense.  Unfortunately for Powe it won't matter once Big Z and Shaq are back in the Cavs rotation.

Actually, I think comparing Big Baby and Powe is worthwhile.
Prior to Powe becoming injured last year, he was playing great basketball.  I think I'll make a post, Powe vs Davis:  if healthy who would you rather have?  And I'll even leave Scalabrine out of the picture, which of course would be wholly appropriate.

is this "if healthy" removing leon's four knee surgery's? because if it does, than i say powe.

If your asking me powe vs davis as they are currently constituted, than davis, because leon has a cronic history of major knee problems, and he's 25 years old.

That's not a guy who i want long term.

Love the guy, wish him well, but i don't have much hope for a long NBA career for him given his knee troubles.

The problem with threads like these is all the subtext. Everyone want to win the debate about Powe.

Edit: I should say not everyone, but many individuals.

It's true. No matter what the OP's intentions were, it turns into a "should we have kept Leon" argument. Guys like that just seem to find a small place in die hard's memory banks forever. I know he'll live on in my thoughts long after he is out of the league. It is tough for many to view him objectively.

a) Those points came against Detroit, a team starting a 6'7'' center.

b) Leon Powe is one more knee injury away from being retired.

Can't I be happy for the guy?

You sure can, and so am I.  My issue is with the original post's implication that Leon Powe is better than Glen Davis and we made a mistake by not re-signing him.

no, happiness is not allowed here, there will be shock therapy at 5 if your attitude doesn't change

yeah, haven't you heard? leon's a cold hearted snake with a game like travis knight who spurned the highly generous offer the Cs made him last summer because he lacks integrity or loyalty to selfishly sign with a team that didn't believe at all in his abilities but just has a grudge against celticsblog and wanted to make us all mad. where have you been?

Agreed.  TP.

i was joking, you birdbrain.

Davis has 13 points in one half tonight against the Jazz.

Now go talk about something else.

Yes. And 7-7 from the FT line, to whoever was pointing out the percentages. TP

And he finished with 13 points! Although he did get smashed in the nose!
