i dont know if this has been mentioned but rondo is on track to break Rick Fox's single season steals record (167).  Rondo is currently 8 steals away from tying the record with what 15 games left? Also, and i thought this was a biggie, but in current form he's set to break BOB COUSYS assists per game record (9.5), currently averaging 9.7... I thought that was pretty interesting, again sorry if its been mentioned

also in addition to that if rondo averages about 4 assists a game he'll break cousys single season assists record.  (both cousy records were set during the 59-60 season)

Anything that removes Fox from the record books is a good thing.

Good finds.  Great to see Rondo scratching his name into the Celtics record books so early in his career.

I've hated him everywhere. Remember booing him when he broke Bird's record.

Ok, this makes a lot more sense to me now.

I was wondering why wonder he has basically giving up getting his own... he knows he's close that assist record and hes going to get it most likely.  The best part is it seems to be benefiting our team greatly.

also, I noticed after Rondo got his 10th assist last night him and KG shared a not so regular eye contact and had irregular celebratory body language for already having the game in hand.

Before Tommy logs on I'll beat him to the punch.  In Cousy's day they recorded assists differently, if the man dribbled etc it didn't count!  8)
He is only going to get better and worth every cent!!

Are you trying to say Cous got 10 assists a game from standing still not moving and finding a wide open player?

No...I believe its when Couz dishes to a player but instead of directly taking a shot and a basket, if he dribbles further before taking a shot, even if the assist was good, it wouldn't count because the recepient of the pass dribbled further.

In my view, in a different note, Why doesn't the league count an assist if the recepient of the pass was subsequently intentionally fouled but goes to the foul line for charity FT..which technically means, if he makes both FT, or atleast one of em, then it should easily be counted as an assist coz it led to a score points.Because if they do this, Rondo would probably ave. about 12 a game as some of his assist to Perk/BBD or even Shelden results to the player being fouled and going to the FT, It doesn't even count that Rondo had to make such a difficult pass at times even in traffic.  ???

Cousy could dribble the ball.  It used to be that the player scoring couldn't dribble after receiving the pass for it to count as an assist.

Yes, because as we've seen all season, it's almost impossible for Rondo to get 10 assists a game.

It's amazing the lengths people will go to to find fault with Rondo.
