We survived another one of Doc's "5 bench players against 3 of their top 6". Seriously is someone keeping track of how much we've been outscored, especially in 4th quarters, that works for the celtics?
Are you also one of those guys who likes to yell, "Doc is overplaying the starters"?

The fact that the starters mounted a fourth quarter comeback and that no guy not named Rajon Rondo played more than 36 minutes is no random coincidence.

Seriously? No I am not one of those guys.

Look at the plus minus numbers of the bench versus the starters in tonights game. Just look at them like right now. Doc should have known that the bench wasnt giving much and the starters were DOMINATING. So why rest all of them in the 4th? You could have debated the topic without a question by the way that was weak and counter productive.

They wouldnt have needed a comeback if Doc had kept a starter or two in to start the 4th.

Seems like he played it just right, I thought he kept the starters in too long in the 3rd, but Doc did just coach a great win so maybe he knows what he's doing. Starters looked fresh at the end of the game.

Just remembered something....the last time The Boston Celtics did the "Texas Three Step" (Beating S.A, Dallas, and Hou on the  Road) was back in 2007-2008.......

We did that last year too. But they were on 3 separate road trips I believe.

Yes. On that one series of plays where he just protected that rim like a soccer goalie until we finally scored. He's looking spry.

That outlet passing gone wrong stretch was awesome especially because KG was breaking up every attempt at the rim after the Mavs hustled to get the steal.

I am looking at the plus-minus number for the game. It's typically more important than the plus-minus number of any individual player. Because, you know, Al Jefferson's 16 and 12 looked really awesome several years ago... oh, wait...

Doc did the same thing vs. Cleveland recently and it resulted in a huge run and a loss. Same thing with the Lakers playing in Boston. Hockey lines don't get it done against the elite and I would've been very quick to blame Doc if we had lost this one. Ray saved him and us, imo.

Probably a moot point, though, since the rotation will likely be shortened by a lot in the playoffs.

Glad to know we won the game against a tough opponent on the road in the 2nd of a back to back. Now let us forget about it and concentrate on the next opponent (I'll be cc this message at the end of every game thread from now until the middle of June).
Just to let you know if we win our last game we play in June, you will be able to stop posting this message then. ;D

Then it would apply to the Mariners, Patriots, Red Sox, or whoever your favorite team is outside the Celtics. But there would be a pot of gold at the end of the Celtics Rainbow.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

That was KG in great form. That's what we need from him. If he misses some jumps shots no big deal. His defense was a thing of beauty. He's looking better and better. Great team win. Rondo was bringing some mad offense at the end of that game.

I like the long bench. we can bring a lot of different looks to a lot of different teams. We can go big, small, with shooters, or slashers. Everyone is defending and playing hard. These guys have really pulled it together. This team rebounds best as a team and is at it's best playing team ball and exploiting the mismatches every game.  Going with Rondo at the end against Kid was beautiful. That's what makes a team great is when they can change things up so much from night to night. I'm going go lay down now, with a smile on my face and dream of the finals...

No.

You need to look at the plus/minus for the starters vs. bench

PF    +/-    PTS
Kevin Garnett,   +17
Paul Pierce, SF   +16
Kendrick Perkins +17
Ray Allen, SG   +24
Rajon Rondo,    +18

BENCH
Rasheed Wallace -8
Marquis Daniels, -15
Michael Finley, -7
Nate Robinson, -9
Glen Davis, PF   -8

Copied and pasted. Realyy..this is what happened in the game. Those five were in the game at crunch time. We got lucky. If you watched the game you would realize that the starters were dominant and the bench sucked...which can happen with any team. There is a reason these guys dont start! I am just unsure about why you want to argue with the fact.
