The playoffs are about having a player who can close out a game in isolation offensively. (see Jordan's 6 rings) The Lakers had Kobe, we had PP able to do that in 08, etc. The single greatest closers with the game on the line in the NBA right now are Kobe and Lebron. That is why one of them most likely will have a ring on their finger in a few months. Unfortunately we no longer have that offensive player and so will have a hard time raising the banner.

ejplaya understand your point.
but the greatest possible success for a team is playing together.
not one .. what would happen if kobe or lebron not play well? the team has potential to succeed? very little ..

  • Rondo = Good

You know, gut instinct from watching highlights from both players might tell you this, but I'm not so sure it's actually true.  Statistically I'm pretty sure Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony actually shoot a higher percentage in crunch time scenarios, and I think both of them are capable of doing similar things to Kobe and LeBron.

Really, LeBron's main advantage in late game situations is that he can just move out to half court and then sprint towards the paint into an opposing player, drawing the foul.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

And miss big free throws.
