Can someone please explain to me why we have KG grinding it out in the post? He has a slim build and a bad knee and we have him attempting to post up bigger players.  I believe Doc has shortened KG's career significantly.

His jumpshot is so solid he should be taking the 18'-20' jumper all day long.

KG is a good low-post player.  His knee looks fine, and he is plenty strong enough to bang in the low post.  This team needs a low post presence, and KG is the best they have.  He was not hitting last night, but generally, he is very efficient down there.

Because if you have your power forward consistently stay on the wing you have no chance at offensive rebounds. If you just want someone to shoot jumpers on offense we have better guys to do that.

Notice how we got killed on the boards last night? It had a lot to do with no offensive boards because kg was on the wing shooting jumpers.

KG is tall with long arms, and he shoots the ball as high as possible over his head at the peak of his jump. This allows him to hit his turnaround in the post over post defenders. So he still has the ability to score in post. I would like to see him upfake and try to go by people more. This wouldn't get him all the way to the hoop but it would give him a step on his man and allow him to get to the free throw line more.

If KG stays out on the wing, it clogs the wings for Ray and he's not able to get shots off as easily. Think of how many easy shots Ray gets off of good post play? He certainly used to get more and that was because KG was more of a threat in the post.

His knee isnt fine. He shouldnt be banging in the post. His jumper is money. Why in the world would we want him banging in the post? It will hasten the end of his career. Just get him the easy look. You dont make a guy with as many miles as KG bang in the post its dumb.

His jumper hasn't been money recently, but it seems to be the only thing he can somewhat consistently score with.  I'd like to see him in the post more often so that he ball movement goes in to out and side to side.  Too often lately this team has been settling for 16 foot jumpers.

"Because if you have your power forward consistently stay on the wing you have no chance at offensive rebounds"

Ah he plays in the post now and we are 29th in the league in rebounding. His lift and quickness are gone posting him is futile. You dont put him on the wing you put him at the top of the key with a simple pick and pop.

Your post players should be Perkins and Pierce.

He does not play in the post a lot now, he takes too many jumpers as it is for my liking now.

I missed the 1st half of this game, and I guess I have to assume by this topic (or doubt) that Doc played KG a lot in the post.

I remember a month ago (or more) people were saying because he couldn't post up he was a lesser player. Now, he apparently is and I'm supposed to be scared of his knee?

I'm not a fan of "fear" topics. You may as well have asked Doc to bench KG.

Just get him the easy look. He can knock them down consistently.

Well, I said "apparently" is posting up more.

To be honest, I really meant you, and I'm wondering what you mean when you say KG's posting up too much when I think he's doing it too little.

I think he is getting a lot of "easy looks" at around 15 feet, like he did against Milwaukee....
