he didnt play well tonight, but when healthy, he has been probably the most consistent player off the bench this season.  

maybe you labeled him the "new posey", but the two have different games and attributes.

Marquis is the kind of player who makes a big impact by not being noticed.  The fact that you don't notice him out there is why he's so valuable.  He doesn't do anything great, but nothing glaringly bad, either.  Occasionally he'll make a nice pass or cut to the hoop really well, but that's it.

For the money we're paying him, that's fine by me.  You need guys like that.

Andris Biedrins' free throw form is almost as bad.

he is a solid defender but has never been a great defender.  not sure why people thought he would instantly become "great".

he isnt a three point shooter and has never shot well from there.  his game is to get into the paint, which is very good at, especially for someone who isnt that fast or quick.  he is efficient, not flashy.  he doesnt do one thing great, but does a lot of things well.

reasonable expectations here people.

My point exactly. I got stuck on my last post on his 3 point shooting and defense. The point is, he hasn't really done anything that he was brought here to do. Preseason, I remember Pierce bragging about how great he was at scoring and setting up plays. I get that putting him at PG was out of his comfort zone, but we had to get Nate(GREAT PICKUP) to play the point.

Well said, DL (TP) ... he's still not 100% from the injury, and hasn't had too much time on the floor yet to get back into the flow of the plays, plus he's generally playing with a new poiint-guard running the offense who hasn't had much experience with this team himself ... reasonable expectations. I wouldn't expect him to be putting his mark on games to any degree at this point. Filling his spot with a decent showing so far, and it will get better/more consistent very soon. (Not crazy about the "Quisy" thing, too much like "queazy" for me ... sorry - 'Quis does the job sufficiently).

Marquis is at his best playing in a big line-up as the 1 or the 2.  His ability to post up or shoot over smaller guards is his greatest offensive asset.

His rebounding is too weak and his shooting too poor to make much of an impact as a 3.  

Marquis does play good defense though, especially on Vince Carter.

I guess he hasn't found his niche yet on this team. He and Doc better find it quick, Season is almost over.

I'm disappointed by Marquis' offensive production (or lack thereof) in the last 5 games or so but he does a lot of things that go unnoticed and his defense is pretty good.

I would like to see him more agressive and involved offensively ; it's been a long time since we've seen him make a pass that make us say "wow, Quisy is really great".

I like having him around, but whatever.

If he didn't have "intangibles", you wouldn't even be able to put him on the floor.
