I have always said that the average fan is about 3yrs behind what's actually happening on the floor night-in-and-night-out. Case in point; AI voted in the All-Star game.

So I thought this could be an interesting conversation about players getting more minutes than deserved - based on name and not performance.

Right off the top of my head, these few come to mind:
TMac
Shaq
AIverson(semi retired)

....but I know there is more, feel free adding to the list

P.S. RWallace is dangerously close on making this list but gets a pass for now because he is a Celtic  8)

TMac,and AI think they are still starters. Players like Sheed, Finley, Camby, Stackhouse, and i'd include Shaq realize that they aren't star players anymore and it's ok to be a PART rather then be the WHOLE. Thats why these guys have positive affects on their teams.

Jamal Magloire and Jermaine Oneal. Yes Magloire was once an all star.

I am 99.9% positive that tony battie, antonio daniels and tim thomas were never all stars. I also kind of doubt Hughes was. I am not sure what your list is about.

I'm sorry, I got lost. Forgot the All-Star part and was only thinking about the washed up part! My mistake.

I think Hughes got an All-Star nod in his final season in Washington but couldn't play due to injury. Or else would have been selected but coaches overlooked him due to injury. One or the other.

I thought Howard was finished as an NBA player four years ago. I have no idea how he's been able to be so effective for Portland this season. Freak occurrence.

OT: i hope that finley gets his share of that "freak occurrence" and plays effective minutes for the c's now that he's with the team.

back on topic: Joe Smith (he was an all star right?)
