#1, I didn't know that Shelden Williams was still playing in the NBA.

#2, For some reason my DVR had a error on the recording so I was unable to watch the Detroit game (the one game of so few that end pleasantly recently)

#3, Since I know Shelden is still in the NBA because his name appeared in a box score with 6 and 4...

Can anyone who cares to offer their thoughts, pls let me know how you felt he looked, played?

Thanks.

Thought he looked good. Made some nice hustle plays. Didn't force too much.

Scoobs, do you have DishNetwork or DirectTV? If Dish, I think I know what error you're talking about.

Shelden Williams has a serviceable game but he didn't show enough to take away minutes from BBD/Wallace or to deserve another opportunity to prove himself.

He looked great, especially after such a long absence.

I was impressed by his rebounds, not only were they good, clean rebounds (not like the ones KG, Sheed or Baby take, when they often fumble it into the hands of the opponents) but, for the most part, they were timely and crucial rebounds in the sense that they prevented a run from the Pistons and allowed us to score on second chance.

Shelden made a lot of contributions last night, his defense was OK and his offense too (he didn't turn the ball over once if I recall correctly and forced only one shot after an offensive board - other than this one, he played off the ball and finished well around the rim).

I know it's unlikely Shelden will get more minutes now that Perk is back but he truly deserves to play at least 10 minutes a game if he keeps up this level of play, especially when Baby is forcing shots and not making any passes.

Same way I looked at it. I'm surprised so many of you seem to be salivating over Williams' rebounding performance last night. Did you guys watch the same game I did?

As mentioned somewhere else, Baby is developing a bit of the black-hole problem that plagued Powe and is plaguing Perk at the moment. Someone needs to put a stop to it.

At least Powe was a foul magnet which made him valuable ... i still think the Celtics tried to sign Candace Parker and got the paperwork screwed up

To an extent, but it also made our unit under-perform because it was stopping ball-movement, plus he's not that good of a FT shooter, which made his getting to the line as often as he did a liability at times because we missed possessions.

Regardless, what Perk, Powe, and Davis were/are doing is wrong and it's damaging.

I thought he looked ok. He actually got a few of those rebound things. Whatever those are?

He played like he had a little passion in him. It's something nice to see in this team. But I hate Sheed and I'm not a fan of Big Fatty so I look at him wanting to see more.

71% career is not great - but not Shaq either ... Leon was ridiculously productive, just fouled way too much to stay on the floor - miles better than Davis was (until he learned how to shoot).  I am not arguing for ball stopping ... but Leon at least made things happen, more than Davis does.

Shelden played well for a 5th/6th big. Maxiel outplayed Shelden/Baby, but Shelden made made plays and did an nice job.  I agree that he is unlikely to see meaningful minutes once Perk is back, but I am intrigued by the 'little big men' lineup that includes him BBD, Shelden and Marquis.  I think they (BBD/Shelden) bring energy and bulk and, if only for a few minute stint at opportune times, I think they can change the tenor of a game.

You know, I don't care about comparing the two to tell you the truth. The black-hole disease was there for Powe, I didn't like it. It's now with Perk and Davis, and I still don't like it. I really couldn't care less if you think Powe is better than Davis, etc. I'm pretty much past that discussion from the past two years.

Shelden seemed to want rebounds and went after them with some nice aggressiveness, so he's got the mentality of a rebounder.

Physically, the big asset that he has (and Leon) that BBD doesn't is that he has longer arms.  He can reach for boards and loose balls, essentially covering more space than he takes up.  BBD seems to take up more space than he can cover.

He looked pretty good on rotations, too, flashing, showing, etc.; his mobility and reach help there, too.

He looks pretty good.  BBD is probably better, but there is no doubt in my  mind that Shelden belongs in the NBA, and that he can definitely play-role player, of course.

Uh last nights game, again he looked good.  Showed nice face up jumper and his usual rebounding tenacity.
