I'd rather be strapped to a chair with my eyelids forced open permanently while being forced in front of a television watching video of every Laker championship game and celebration ever than have Mark Blount on the C's again

This might be worth it, if only to give us a laugh in an otherwise depressing week.

Realistic question, was is it Mark Blount you hated or was it Mark Blount for the money he was making what you hated?  And if so would him here for a minimum contract and minutes (mostly as a big body and 6 more fouls) on the end of the bench be so bad?

I'm really asking.......  ;D

Were you not around for the glory days of Mark Blount in green? If so, you're probably lucky. He was awful, didn't try at all. Didn't have ANY heart. If people think Rasheed is bad, they need to go watch some old games. Didn't want to rebound, really only shot midrange shots. I don't seem to recall him in the post a lot.

He hated being here, as well. Pretty much cried tears of joy when he was traded. And, it's not like he didn't have talent, he certainly did. Most people don't like to admit it, but once he got his contract he dogged it like no other.

And isn't he still on the deal we gave him? Worst contract, ever. The dude's terrible. Him and Marcus Banks, two dudes I never want to see again.

I'd agree that he isn't a bad center at the minimum, and probably would never have been considered a bust at 2 million a year.

There was a time where he was a serviceable backup in this league.

ok, it's all about motivation - sign him to a minimum deal with a clause that will cut off one finger per missed box out, one toe per shot outside of 10 feet and pull one tooth for every time he skips... sounds legal

he'd be terrible, he was only motivated by the potential money, then shut it down faster than my senior prom date

You know the lack of caring and lazy play that has seemingly infected the team lately, which makes all of us a little sick to our stomach?  That was Mark Blount on a nightly basis.  I would have hated the guy on a minimum deal, if he played like he did in his latter years.  (Young and hungry Blount, I liked.  Ironically, he was one of the hardest workers on the team.)

Is there any playoff team out there that should sign Mark Blount?

Could he be a decent stop gap signing for the Cavs until they sign Big Z? Or perhaps provide some extra big man depth for the Nuggets? Give San Antonio some added length inside + the midrange jump shot to give Duncan some space in the paint? Portland could still use another big man or two also.
