The Celtics collectively cannot put together 48 minutes of productive basketball and are no longer worth my while watching. Everybody has underperformed and the coach must be fired, N_O_W. The players are quitters and I am sorry to say that the window has completely closed on this team and we are required to go into rebuilding mode. This appears to be an impossible task with all our money tied up in six players and Wyc Grousebeck wanting understandably to now cut payroll so he can cut ticket prices as the future indeed looks bleak.

There is no reason to panic. The only thing fans need to understand is that it just isn't happening for the Celtics this year and a lot of it is the team never really stuck together and allowed for horrible losses to happen. There is a reason for it: POOR CHEMISTRY and POOR COACHING. This has got to be the worst coaching job any head coach has ever done this year or any year. Doc claims he knows what needs to be done but the players will not commit or sacrifice for the team. This is a real travesty going on here. They fold up like a cheap tent when a team scores on three straight possestions on them. This team deserves to lose the rest of its games and miss the playoffs because they are simply Q_U_I_T_T_E_R_S.

The Celts are INCREASING ticket prices next season, in some cases, by significant percentages. So, I, for one, as a season ticket holder, so not think that reducing payroll is an acceptable solution.

Geez that is bad timing. Pay more for less product - matches the Obamanomics model perfectly.

I might have to start following the Victorian Basketball Association down under LOL

I agree, this teams problem is all about attitude and drive... not age... and their using injuries as an excuse.

The problem is, i think, that in the past two years our only real addictions of players to our team  are by losers: Marbury, Daniels & Robinson always played for losers teams, and even Wallace, although he won a champioship in Detroit, for me, is a loser (except for that year he always had been a problem for his team). We assumed that the Big Three may had to able to do the miracle of changing their mentality, but pheraps, it's happening the inverse.
When we won the title our main addiction to the big three were Posey a PJ Brown, two solid veterans players that were able to contribute on and off the floor, with their example to the young players that were on the team.

by your definition, all of the big three were losers as well. I think it just might be attitude - there is no way the big 3 will be able to replicate their 2008 hunger, it's not physically possible (unless the 2008 title is ruled null and void and so they each havee 0 titles to their name again - that'll stoke the fire)

I hope the Celtics read CB. This would put the fire back into them. And it should.

The best player on this team is injured....o-u-t for at least a few more games. KG and Ray are complementary to him, they are no longer his equals. Rondo is much improved but still complimentary and Perk even to a lesser degree. Sheed, Daniels and Nate Robinson were never going to be the guys that carried the Celtics on their backs to a Championship.

If the Captain is hurtin, the whole team is hurtin. Why is that so hard to remember? How many really big games have we won in the last decade without Paul Pierce on the court? How many bad teams have embarassed us when he was out of the lineup and wearing street clothes?

Anyone that has forgotten that this is Paul Pierce's team is just not paying attention.

Is that why we won so many games the year before winning a championship....lol

Do you realize that we just lossed to one of the worst teams in NBA history? Who cares if Pierce was playing or not. We should be able to beat almost every team in our conference without Pierce ( minus ATL, ORL, CLE) if we are "contenders". Im sorry but that is the poorest excuse I have heard. The Lakers won the majority of their games without Kobe by a landside because thier players have heart and hunger, something we lack greatly.

Both of the above posts (quoted) are overreactions...Go become a Laker fan if this is your true feeling and not just a rant...(If it's just a rant, I forgive you) I shouldn't be in this thread....it's for kids in toy stores screaming when they don't get the toy they want..

No that was because Pierce was playing pretty much by himself. In case you missed the actual games, KG and Ray werent Celtics yet. Rondo was still a Rookie and battling for playing time. Big difference in teammates.

I care if Pierce was playing because the facts speak for themselves. We win more games with Pierce in the lineup and Healthy than without him.

Do you think the Lakers are that good? They played well for a stretch and should be complimented, but are not going anywhere without Kobe Bryant.

The Cavaliers are not going to just pull off a string of wins consistently with Lebron in street clothes and neither are the Magic missing Howard. You could accurately make this case for several more teams Heat/Wade, Spurs/Duncan and so forth.

I am saying that Paul Pierce fills this role for the current Celtics and we will not be serious contenders or a consistent winner without him on the court and healthy.

Paul is an important piece but everything doesn't revolve around him like the Lakers and Kobe.  We should still crush teams like NJ even without Paul.  The Lakers always seem to take care of business without Kobe...most likely because they aren't bored.

Cause and effect can be debated, but the fact is that the entire team has taken on Rasheed Wallace's attitude of the last several years.  Horrible addition in my opinion.  If the strongest personality on the team can slack, it opens the door for others to do the same.
