Each game I grow to hate Sheed more and more.  He's approaching Mikki Moore territory.

The offense is bad.  He's got no rythm and give us NO energy of the bench.

The defense kills me.  He's slow on the rotation.  He plays week off the ball defense, he is late and reaches often.  He fouls when he shouldn't.  Oh, and he doesn't rebound.

The way he's played, he should be burried behind Sheldon and Scal.  But Doc doesn't have the stones for that.

So I'll go on, wondering if Sheed will eclipse Mikki

It pains me to agree, but I do. TP for making me laugh.

He really isnt providing much more at this point.

I think Mikki was at least trying.
He probably won't but I sure wish Doc would just bench the guy. And yes, Scal would be better IMO.

The worst of Ainge's Celtic signings. Scal > Sheed

Funny, everything the OP said I feel about Glen Davis and not Rasheed Wallace.  Although Davis does seem like he tries harder though.

How was Rasheed doing poorly last night, outside of a rotation or two?  He came in and lit up the Cavs in the post.  Is it his fault that they call an iso-post play for Davis, who proceeds to badly miss and fall to the ground, thus leading to a fast break?  Is it Sheed's fault that they throw him the ball at the 3point line with 4 seconds left on the shot clock?  He had 9 very efficient points at the half, and could have played better in the second half, but so could have everyone else on the Celtics.

While I agree that Rasheed doesn't play 100% every play, and it can be frustrating to watch at times, but he does provide a lot more than a bunch of other players off the bench.

Sheed did make an effort to get into the post last night. I am ok with him taking 3s if he is open. I think the collapse started with Rondo getting burned out along with the Cavs playing better in the 2nd half.

I thought Sheed played pretty well in the first half.  He got into the post, the midrange was falling.  He needs to start there, if he started doing his work there I would have no issue with him offensively at all.  I don't mind him taking 2 or 3 3's a game, it's just when he starts taking 5ish that there's an issue.  He's also been an average rebounder so I don't think that will change anytime soon.
do it

Sheed played in the post in the first half. As for defense, he guarded no one last night. In the first half, Sideshow Bob lit him up for like 10 points, and in the second, whomever he was guarding scored at will. Also, for the most part in the second he decided he was just going to stand outside the arc, and if he got the ball he was going to chuck it up. He has been a huge disappointment this year.

terrible defense on varajo in the 2nd

even worse "D" on hickson in the fourth

and i was fine with him taking open 3's.....i am not anymore. he simply does not make enough to justify doing it. he is a bad shooter. i know he extends the defense and all, but it still leads to empty possessions.

I don't think he extends it anymore, no one feels the need to cover him.  They just let him shoot.

Ditto.

The only time Sheed needs to take the 3 (open only) is when we are on a run.  When we are losing a lead or are trailing, he needs to have his butt down on the block and popping for mid-range stuff only.

So do we all think that Rasheed will = Mikki for rest of season and into playoffs?

Agreed.

Also, if Sheed misses so many 3's and the Celtics are the worst rebounding team in the League, then why aren't they guys on the 2nd unit crashing the boards when Sheed hoists a 3-ball?

Big Baby has picked up the offensive rebounding as of late, but I'd like to see more guys crashing the boards.

Last night a Cavalier missed and Baby, Sheed, and Tony all waited for the ball to drop down only to have Anderson Varejao soar over all of them to capture the rebound. Pathetic.
