We need one that can shoot. That is going to kill this team. Nate and Rondo can penetrate all they want but everyone will collapse because Marquis or Tony CAN NOT SHOOT A LICK! A few plays stick out to me. There was a dribble drive kicked it to Tony with nobody within 10 feet and then he misses the jumper. Then they kicked it out to Maruqis in the corner twice and missed the jumper twice. If we had one guy that would make those shots we would be a much better team. Now saying what everyone already knows! Who are some of the Free Agents available right now. I know Hughes is available but seems he will be going to the Bobcats. Anything else and Monday is the deadline so has there been any rumors of somebody being bought out?

How about someone like Paul Pierce? I'm pretty sure if he was healthy he would have been the one playing. That being said, I am pretty serious about Pierce coming off the bench. I'm sure they would never do it, but a bench with Pierce, Wallace, Robinson wouldn't be half bad and I think Marquis would do pretty well with the starting unit.

Just a thought.

I understand what you're saying and I agree to some extent, but it'll never happen.  Having Daniels on the floor not commanding the ball like Pierce helps Rondo and Allen get going early, but let's get serious, Pierce is not going to the bench.
do it

Well, we need another shooter.  Even when Pierce is back, this team needs an extra shooter off the bench for certain situations.  Robinson is good, and will help them, but he is not a shooter.

The irony in the House trade is that they upgraded the position House was actually playing...but now they need someone to play the position House should have been in.

They need someone who can play a few minutes per game.  Come in to stretch the defense at the end of quarters, or if the defense starts packing it inside.

I still have a little hope for someone like Raja Bell being bought out (and healthy), but ultimately, we might need to look elsewhere.  Anyone know what Wally's up to?  Or maybe it's time to give Morris Almond a 10-day contract?

We probably are not going to find a rotation guy, but getting a designated shooter off the bench could certainly help.

I agree -- we need someone who can score fearlessly to mitigate these absurd runs we're prone to giving up.

I think Wally is done. I like the Almond idea. But can we actually imagine that Doc will play such a guy, and that it will actually bring a sea change to these overall issues?

To me, the rebounding problem is beginning to look insurmountable.

Yeah, getting outrebounded frustrates the hell out of me more than anything. Anyone can rebound it is about effort and anticipation not sure why the C's can't do a better job than that. A perfect example is one of the leagues I play in. I am 6 feet and we have another guy that is 5'8" at best. We both consintently out rebound the other guys on our team that are 6'5" and out rebound other teams that have significantly taller players than us. If us everyday Joe's can do it why can't these guys getting paid millions put in the same effort...It has always infuriated me..We have 3 7 footers, 2 of the top rebounding guards in the league, where is the disconnect???????

TP - I think either Ray or Pierce should be coming off the bench.  We do not need them both to be in the starting lineup to be competitive, but when Doc goes into his predictable rotations, that's where we are losing games.  A starting 5 of Rondo, Ray, Daniels, KG and Perk will keep them in the games.  Bringing in Pierce off the bench should give them the punch they need to put other teams away.

We need someone like Bobby Simmons who can sit in the corner and hit the three. He would be a very good fit here in Boston.

No, actually we need Paul Pierce back and better rotations.  Part of the problem is that Doc always plays Ray and Paul too long together.  Take out of one them midway through the first, bring in Marquis, then bring Paul/Ray in for Paul/Ray at the end of the first and keep Marquis out there.

The problem last night is that we only really had 3 wings, and 2 of them can't shoot.

Rebounding at the NBA level is a little different.  Especially since the guys the Celtics are playing tend to be younger and hungrier.
