1-8 at home versus the top 10 teams in the league.

3-10 versus the Cavs, Lakers, Atlanta, Orlando and Denver.

Thankfully they play weeks sisters for the next few weeks so their record will likely look better.

Bottom line, this team does not have what it takes to stay with the good teams for a full 48. Yes, on the rare occasion they will win, see the Lakers, but generally they take advantage of the bad teams and lose to the good teams.

Yep.

And it's not false bravado, Vinnie...I just believe that Boston will put this all together in the Playoffs.

What they don't realize is that us as fans want to see them win every game, but obviously Doc and Danny have other things in mind....we aren't hearing about any potential coach firings....only trade we made was for Nate...obviously Danny believes in what we have now.

I stand behind Doc and Danny.

Yes - what we see now is crapola....but..just gotta wait a couple more months for the fun to start, I think

That's too easy. Care to explain how all of a sudden they are going to be able to beat good teams?

I think the Celtics can beat Atlanta + Orlando but not Cleveland.

Uncertain of their chances against the Lakers but I'd deem the Lakers slight favourites at this stage. The Lakers are winning the West. Nobody in the West can beat a healthy + in form Lakers team in a seven game series.

To be honest, Vinnie..I cannot...just based off of what I (and everyone else here on the Blog) have witnessed.

But I just believe that some imaginary switch will be pressed in the playoffs. We are the Celtics, after all. We won't stink up the Post Season.

Celtic Mystique.

When was the last time that any of us have witnessed Boston play halfway in the playoffs?

I'm amazed you think they can beat ATL but not Cleveland. They definitely match up eons better with the latter, that's for sure.

Well - if all we have to go on is mystique, magic, hope and trust in Doc and Danny, I think the question is answered for me -- No.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Only if bad teams pave the road to the finals, but how often does that happen?

I see what you're saying DL. You're saying it's possible to trade KG for a player that could lead us to the finals. Unfortunately it's not possible this year, but maybe in the summer.

And I don't blame you or anyone else here for that mindset...it's certainly tough to look through the clouds.

But I just recall a few proud moments in Celtics History...times when it seemed like we were done:

2007-2008 NBA Finals Game 4.....

1987 or 88 Playoff VS Detroit: "It's the Steal by Bird!!! Passes underneath to DJ who Lays It In!!!

2002 NBA Playoffs...who would've thought that Pierce and Antoine Walker would come that close to taking us to the Finals?

Glen "Eleventh Hour" Davis hitting that Buzzer Beater Last Year against ORL in the playoffs? And then almost Running over that poor kid, lol? Get out of the way, little fella!

Plus numerous games I cannot even recall. And a few this season.

Still a few games left, and a lot of life left in Our Celtics.

All good stuff, but none of it wins you anything if you do not have the horses, and the Celts simply do not have them.

Talent -- one team has a lot more of it than the other.

Agreed.

Those who keep pointing out "if this happens" and "we'll get it together come the playoffs" are living in a dreamworld. The evidence suggests this team is going to be eliminated in the second round. If they're lucky enough to get there.
