Fire Doc or make him resign. Thus Danny Ainge steps in as Coach to salvage Championship aspiration. This is his team after all, he put this group together. Nothing against Doc. Maybe Danny can pulls off a Pat Riley and squeeze a Championship out this group. Crazy Right? It's been done before.

Unlike Riles, I don't think Danny has that love of the sidelines and desire to come back.

He would be a better coach that Doc, though.  Then again, so would half the guys at the Y.

EDIT:

I sometimes wonder if Doc uses the wretched combinations he does or calls the plays he does to show Danny what the guys CAN'T do in an effort to make something happen (i.e. having House bring the ball up or TA shoot jumpers)?  Danny knows what they can and can't do, and made the call to put these guys together.  He must have something in mind for how they can play together.  Clearly, Doc either doesn't, or he's got some other agenda in mind.  Danny would be a MUCH better coach.

I think Danny can do this. Doc rotations have been awful for many years. He clearly can't manage minutes. It isn't a far fetched idea. Danny has had success as a coach. I believe in Danny much more than Doc.

I'd be happy. When that's done after the year you can get another coach.

You can hire Tibbs and maybe get him an assistant of his liking.

Hubie Brown can't be a head coach now, but I wonder if he'd do assistant stuff.

McHale?

Coach K wouldn't laugh at us like he did at the Nets.

you probably want that stuff lined up ahead of time though

Aside from watching TA do anything with the ball in his hands, Doc is just the worst at managing player minutes. How can you play Rondo the full 48 tonight? He was cooked in the 2nd half. He was our only shot to win and Doc needed to get him a 6 minute or so rest in the first half.

I can't tell you how bad I'd like to be in the room invisible when from time to time Danny calls Doc into the office and says..."Why do you do stuff like you did tonight? Remember when you outcoached Phil Jackson in the finals? Why can't you just do that all the time?"

Do ever think Doc tells his players "it's ok as long as you just try your best...uh I mean as long as you just try...uh I mean as long as you just..um come to the game and play...uh I mean..as long as...I mean no matter what guys, it's ok."

Danny would be a great coach. But from everything I've read about his desire to be close to family, and his heart problems last year, I can't imagine he'd even do it temporarily.

Unless danny also brings a time machine to give us paul, kevin, ray, and sheed circa 2002, i'm not sure that works out.

I think Doc could be doing better, but i think alot of our problems have everything to do with the combined age of our 3 core players now standing at 99 years old.
