Bottomline is Doc just doesnt know how to be flexible unless its in a panic to figure out if its going to work. Our BIGS rotation needs to change up at times. But Doc simple minded self says Sheed & Baby and Perk & KG. It should be Sheed & KG for a athleticism, length, Shooting & all around skills lineup sometimes. And a Perk & BIG BABY all brute lineup at times which I haven't seen together for over 7mins. together from either 1 of those 2 lineups all season. Tonight was a Sheed & KG lineup when Hickson started be active to beat him with smarts from KG & Sheed. But with Baby, Hickson just out moves & jumps the less athletic Davis. Im tired of yelling at Doc through my TV set actually! And with Nate Robinson, Doc has to let him go unbridled on pick & rolls to maximize his energy & offensive skills. He cant be just a cog in the wheel of the offense because if that is going to be the case, Eddie was a much better fit for our Offense. Nate can get Baby & Sheed easy buckets on catch & shoots if DOC lets him out the stable!

Doc is getting outworked by other coaches too. I can't defend him playing Rondo 45 minutes at this stage of the year.

I tried to TP the thread originator but I could not repeat Karma Action. Perhaps Amager or IP can do it for me.

I can get all emotional and say FIRE THE COACH, FIRE THE COACH but this is just another gut check for everybody in a season full of gut checks.

A large part of Doc's problems is that he does not know what to expect from his players so his adjustments frequently backfire. Tonight he locked up on not taking Rondo out of the game and Rondo played a horrible 2nd half as a result. Nate Robinson was brought in for a reason and we need to find out if his athletic ability can help us.

Doc got outcoached by Mike Brown tonight.  That is pretty tough to do.

You listen to him during the inside tracks on timeouts and he says the same things "We need to get stops, we need to score the ball".  I think the players probably know that by now.

There have been injuries but a lot of this falls on Doc.  I give him credit for a hell of a coaching job last season, as the team slightly overachieved after KG's injury.  But this season has not been his best work.

ESPN ain't gonna tell us anything meaningful.

Obviously whatever Doc said didn't work, but it'd be laughable for you to take snippet lines that ESPN's throwing out like that to the bank.

Well, the interesting thing is that evidently Danny Ainge still approves of Doc Rivers....this is why he is still allowing Doc to experiment with these lineups....to us they may not make sense, but maybe Doc and Danny sees things differently...

As Fans, we want to see our Celtics Stomp CLE, but maybe Doc and Danny can see a Bigger Picture out of all of this..

You totally did. Rondo played the whole game. He's suppose to get rest so he can keep driving the ball. That's way we got Nate. No so Nate can play undersized shooting guard to Rondo. He some rotations Doc. The starters player the whole 3rd quarter and were gassed by the end.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Maybe this was how he welcomes Rondo to stardom and the Big 4.

He's run just about everyone else into the ground at some point so it was finally Rondo's turn.

Makes some sense if you think of it that way.

Just what is that bigger picture that would force Doc to play Rondo 45 minutes tonight and put some horrendous combinations on the floor?

second worst coach in the NBA next to whoever is coaching the Nets.

AAAAAAAND the winner for overstatement of the year is...

Yea I think Minnesota would take him in a heartbeat, as would the warriors and at least 10 other teams.

I can't answer that one, Vinnie - I wish I could.

What I can say is that Danny evidently still believes in Doc.

That is the issue I have. You make all these positive statements about the Celts' chances to win a championship, yet you ahve few if any answers to all of these questions. There is no bigger picture.
