We beat the Cavs without KG last year, right?

I agree the odds are definitely in the Cavs' favor, but we've still go a chance.
I don't like only having one guy who can guard LeBron who'd normally be asked too.

We're going to see Ray Allen and Scalabrine try to check him, ugh....

We've got a shot but it's going to be tough.

The thing is, the keys to slowing Lebron in our defense is not really the guy checking Lebron.  It is the big men, who are blitzing him, and then the backside guys rotating quickly to the right men.

I actually feel very confident that if the bigs do their job, Scal can do as good a job against Lebron as just about anyone, because he can be physical with him, and know that he has help with Lebron's quickness.  Unfortunately, I am not that confident in the big men right now.
I feel okay about Scal defending most small forwards but not LeBron. He is too quick and for Scalabrine.

That is where the big men come in.  If they are rotating in time, it won't matter how quick Lebron is, because there will not be a lane for him to get into.  However, if the big men are even a fraction of beat late, Lebron will split it, and the dunk contest will start.

I think TA will do a very good job on Lebron. He is not going to shut down Lebron (no one really can) but he can definitely be a defensive pest. He moves very quickly laterally and is very very strong especially for his size. He definitely gives up a few inches on Lebron but I think the main goal is to keep him out on the pereimeter and I think TA can do this better than anyone on our team. If Lebron decides to go into the post however, that could be a problem. But Lebron doesn't go into the post much so i don't think we have to worry about that. My main concern is TA getting in foul trouble. Lebron can draw fouls out of anything and if TA gets a couple quick ones we could be in trouble. I do like that TA plays his man straight up and doesn't try and take the charge as much which especially for Lebron will always go his way.

This game is setup for Celtics beat-down. Celtics aren't a good home team facing the best team in the NBA team. No Pierce and Possibly No Marquis. That's 18-25ppg missing on a team that struggles to score. Add the struggles from downtown, being last in the NBA Rebounds, and no go to scorer. And last but not least, Who the hell is going to stop Lebron from exploding on the Celtics? Absolutely no depth at the wing position. Lebron will go for the kill, and humiliate the Celtics on national TV.

There is no way the Cavs will destroy us, even without Pierce and Marquis.

First I think Marquis will play and that's huge ; second, they have not won in Boston since 2007. They have great chances of breaking that losing streak tonight but I don't see them blowing us out and I actually feel kind of "good" about our chances... who knows what will happen? :)

Plus, you can survive big games from LeBron if you shut down his teammates or let them choke by themselves, so, although it's a concern that we will have nobody to guard him except for Ta if Quisy and Pierce don't play, if you take care of his teammates, you are fine. And the Cavs' defense hasn't been that good in recent weeks.

I agree that it doesn't look good, but even Jordan's Bulls lost to Damon Stoudamire's Raptors once (and maybe twice) the year they won 72 games.  So I wouldn't rule anything out yet.

See, Cleveland fans don't even have to troll here.  We have Celtic fans to post these things for them.

 ;)

Honestly, I would rather have the flu ridden Celtics play and guard Lebron, even if for only a few minutes.

Biological warfare.  Let the Celtics launch the first virus at Lebron.

C's will not lose this game.
In Croatia it will be 2AM when game starts. I will watch on tv till 4.30AM and in 6AM go to work...I expect big night from Rondo, KG, Wallace and Tony Allen. I'm not so sure that Paul would sit...he's extremly motivated to play vs King so..."everything is possible".
Go Celts

You have underestimated Tony Allen!

And the help defense (and Scal too!)

Sorry, but I think it is impossible to understimate Scal.

108-88 Cavs indeed destroyed the Celtics. It was only a matter of time before the usual collapse.

  • Rondo = Good
Well, both of the threads were right.  We dominated them for much of the first half, and then looked like a far worse team in the second half.  They really manhandled us in the second half.

Bottom line is this team doesn't have what it takes to close out good opponents.

Well I hope you're happy that you were right.  Way to be a good Celtics fan counting your team out before the game was even played and saying they were going to get blown out.

Why even come on this site, watch the games, or be a fan of the team if you say they're gonna lose.

Fans like you make me sick (which we have a lot of around here)...

Actually you aren't even a fan you are an embarrassment to all Celtics fans and fans period.
