  • You know my methods, Watson.
I have a theory on this...

My grandpa took care of my grandmother...she couldn't walk (two knee surgeries) and she needed his constant care.  I watched, over the course of a year, his health deteriorate.  But she pretty much stayed the same...

My point: we have injured guys on this team.  The WORST thing you do is take your healthy components and try to overcompensate for their losses.  Sure, Rondo might be healthy now, but if you run him into the ground you'll ruin him come playoff time, let alone the long-term implications of doing so.

I watched KC Jones do this to the Celtics in the late 80's...  History should teach us to learn from our mistakes.

thats such a bad idea on so many levels. hes young yes. but everyone gets tired. if he did he wold be burnt out by the playoffs and he wouldnt be nearly as effective.

in the playoffs if need be sure
i'd rather develop team chemistry now and give rondo rest, let robinson or dare i say tony  ::) get some minutes
this can only help us when it really matters
I think the chemistry would be better if we had not blown ten point leads in the 2nd half for again ten times.

Rondo was on the court every time we blew this leads, I don't know how the blown leads are an argument in favor of your point that we should play Rondo more.

Doc takes Rondo out of the game and leaves him on the bench longer than he should. The offense starts to break down, the other team gets a little momentum and then Rondo's put back in when he's been sitting in a chair for 15-20 minutes. I'd guess that the longer he sits the more likely we are to blow a lead when he's put back in, and that most of the blown lead occurs within the few minutes after he's reinserted in the game, before he gets back into the flow of it. The problem is compounded when Doc puts the other starters back in at around the same time so that most of the lineup is coming back in cold.

I was referring to our second half blown leads. I agree that Doc did a poor job yesterday by putting all the starters back in the game in the 2nd quarter when they had all cooled off.

But overall, in all the games where we've blown out 2nd half big leads, Rondo was on the court during the terrible 3rd quarters, where all the starters collapsed just after halftime, so there is no excuse of cooling off because of a too long rest, not for Rondo, and not for the other starters either.

But when the team's healthy and they've had the same lineup for a while what you're talking about shold go away. What I'm talking about will still be with us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that's why they traded for Robinson. Isn't he supposed to be a back up at the point and reduce Rondo's minutes?
