He's not exactly what we need.  However, unless other options emerge, I don't think it hurts.  It doesn't really help to have a wing who "fits better" if he's not going to play either.

At the very least with Hughes he could step in and play well if someone went down.

One of the most inconsistent players in the league. spoke to a cabbie in Cleveland during a visit there and he hated the guy. Had him on my fantasy team before he signed with Cleveland when he was hot; but still was very up and down.

That may be true.  I'm not saying he's anything special and I agree with those that say he's somewhat of a repeat of TA and Quis.

However, I'm saying that if it's between him and a D-League guy who has "size and can shoot the three," I'll take Hughes.  While the D-League guy sounds good in theory, you know he's not going to play unless someone gets hurt.  And if someone gets hurt, then Hughes would become valuable.

I don't really want him, but see your point that he may be valuable insurance.  Too bad he'll be playing for a contract and likely wouldn't want that role.

True.  I don't see him coming here.  But assuming he was interested, if the option was between him and some scrub who won't play anyway (even if he's a better "fit"), I'll take Hughes.

Did anyone mention that Hughes has a broken finger?

No and that changes my whole stance on Hughes.  TP for the info.
