Well this proves it. I am convinced. Landry is definitely an upgrade Giddens..... ;D

We haven't covered this:

Was Giddens the worst player in Celtics history?

Not even close, Giddens was a very good defender with an NBA ready body.  I mean, you don't even have to be a student of history to know he was better than some of the ex-Celtics.  Hell, Patty O'Brian for God's sake...

P.S. After reading the OP its amazing I posted in this thread :P

LOL how could you say that JR was the worst player in Celtic's history? He didn't play... I can think of players that played a LOT and were worse.

That he didn't play doesn't make him better. From the second he was drafted, there was not even a glimmer of hope he could be an NBA player. At least others gave humerous unathelticism or bloppers or even the occasional play where you wondered how the player actually succedded.

Giddens is high on the list of most worthless dudes in franchise history.

You're penalizing him because of his era. There were players that were worse than JR that got playing time simply because the team they were on was so bad. Players like Alan Ray and Gerald Green didn't get so many more minutes than Giddens because they were so superior as players, but because they didn't have Ray and Paul and TA and Daniels playing ahead of them.

I had not previously read this post, but now that I have, a nickname for Landry comes to mind from the OP's description of him:

Swiss Army Knife

Apparently, this guy can do everything.  He's a knife, a nail file, a toothpick.   ;)

Um, what does conditioning have to do with being a good player?  I don't even know where to start.

But yeah, I probably meant that he was pretty to look at  ::) I mean seriously, what did you think I meant?

Look out for Tim -- he's sharp as a tac. Think you're taking my point a little too literally? Familiar with the expression tongue in cheek, perhaps?

And do you actually buy than Giddens is a better player than Green or Ray? Both can actually shoot a basketball. Ray wasn't even drafted for Pete's sake.

What about Alaa Abdelnaby -- was his Celtics career worse than Giddens?

Dwayne Schintzius didn't bring much to the table, but he had good hair.

Nate Driggers was pretty rough around the edges, not to mention that unfortunate Fake Jordans / 30 lbs of Weed arrest.... that leaves a bit of a stain.

Laughed out loud, tp.

I'm saying that fact that he wasn't physically limited makes him even worse. What did Marty Conlon have to work with? Not much, but he made the best of it. Giddens can't rest on that -- he just plain sucks.

And what about the name, and that dim look? You can't be called JR and be that worthless and goofy....

Wow. The OP is frighteningly absurd.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

It's the internet. The only way you can tell that someone you don't know is probably being tongue in cheek is if they say something completely off the charts or if they generally show themselves to be much too knowledgeable to make such a statement.
