Yesterday I posted what I would like to get out of Nate Robinson, which is mainly....HUSTLE.
In other thread I said Danny and Doc should sit him down and show him the video of Eddie House's famous dive/save from the finals against the Lakers and tell him we're looking for that kind of energy and spark....explaining how he'll soon be a fan favorite with that kind of play. So that's what I want from Nate in general terms...
Now, from Doc and the vets I hope we get acceptance of Nate's game on offense....I don't want another Marbury experience, desperate to fit in instead of using one's own offensive mojo....
Let him be a pure scorer whether he's playing PG or SG. Let him hog the ball a little bit and let him miss some shots without yanking him or scolding him or otherwise getting on his case about selfishness....I believe when you green light a natural scorer you get more out of him than when you try to stuff him into a different kind of envelope and then expect scoring on the side (oh by the way Nate, please score while you adjust your entire orientation to being a team player...) There's nothing wrong with a microwave if you use it correctly. Of course one keeps an eye on shooting percentage, and so if he stunk it up terribly on offense something would have to be done, but don't get on his case in the meantime.
