Of course Chuck had to add his two cents and say that the Cavs would make it with Jamison.

Personally I feel its going to come down to the team with homecourt unless the Cavs play the magin in the Eastern conference finals, then I think the magic have the cavs number

I think the Cavs are overwhelming favourites to win the East.

Not convinced that the Celtics can beat the Cavs now that they've gotten Jamison.

I'm not either, I think they'd have to have a serious injury to LBJ/AV/Jamison.

But even though they'd be favored I'd give the C's at least a 33% chance in a series, if Pierce can get back to moving well enough to passably guard LeBron.

I still want to see us match-up.  We've given the Cavs all they could handle for the past 3 years, and I don't see Jamison changing that all that much.  Perk/Sheed/Baby give you 18 fouls and solid post D against Shaq, KG is very capable of guarding Jamison and hurting him in the post.  Parker's weakness defensively is a boon for Ray Allen and Mo Williams hasn't been all that special this year (is he really any better than Nate Robinson.  Pierce plays better defense on LeBron than just about anybody

The Cavs made a very nice trade at the peak of a 13 game winning streak, while the C's and Lakers were at the tail ends of their worst stretches of the season.  Of course they are the overwhelming favorites now.  I want to see how they do when their 3s aren't scorching the nets and they face some adversity.

On paper we should be, on age and health....its looking bleak.  But Im definitely interested to see how hungry nate is, what landry has to offer, and if we can pick up anyone intruiging on waivers.

I don't think the Cavs would be better with Jamison. In fact, I see Jamison's game as getting weaker already.

Boston is not playing well now but we still are in the top 3/5 East team. And if we got back our mojo we can be better than all of them. Well that is a big "if" though.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
We shouldn't really consider what TNT announcers prognosticate for us.

Now if like...I don't know, David Stern said "The Celtics will be in the finals. Wink. I just said wink because I'm incapable of normal social interaction so I said wink to imply I would parenthesis arrange parenthesis them to get there. I said parenthesis twice there, once before and once after the word arrange to imply that I would use my considerable powers as the parenthesis king parenthesis of the national basketball association to ensure the Celtics would appear in the finals regardless of actual talent or ability. I said the words parenthesis there twice in the same pattern as before to imply that while there is no official king of the national basketball association my current position as commissioner of the national basketball association gives me complete oversight over the league, so the titles, aye eeeee king or commissioner are really synonymous."

If David Stern said that, then I'd take notice. Of course, that would also mean he is a robot that has attained not only artificial intelligence but also a rudimentary understanding of human behavior nuance. In that particular scenario we would need to form a mob and kill him, preferably with pitchforks.

It's getting late, I should go to bed. Yes. I'm going to go to bed.

An interesting thing this post made me realize is while everybody worries about the celtics aging players, jamison and shaq aren't getting any younger at 33 and 37 years a piece!  Why does nobody talk about that??  Sure, James is still young and in his prime, but so is Rondo who I believe could have a tony parker like affect on the playoffs this postseason.

There was one play in the first quarter that I really liked from KG and showed me some promise and hope.  Everyone knows he has been playing very non-100% lately and there was one possession where Gasol started to post him up.  I think he allowed for it to start because he is still not going at 100%.  Then it was like something clicked and KG suddenly thought "wait, who the hell does this guy think he is?  does he seriously think he can post me up?  i'm 100 times better than him and he needs to be reminded of that" and kg pushed him nearly all the way out to the 3 point line, then the something happened and the ball went out of bounds off LA.  It reminded me that KG has not completely lost it nor is over the hill.  He is just coasting as he gets through this injury, but can still turn it back on.  I just hope that he gets to the point where he can turn it on and keep it on all game by the time playoffs arrive.

Yeah ... Kenny also gave Dwight Howard a ten for that extremely lame Superman dunk that won him the Slam-Dunk competition, (and it wasn't even a DUNK!). I believe we will be in the Finals, too, I just don't care what anyone on TNT has to say about the Celtics ... sorry, but they lost their integrity with me a long time ago.

I'm not either, I think they'd have to have a serious injury to LBJ/AV/Jamison.

But even though they'd be favored I'd give the C's at least a 33% chance in a series, if Pierce can get back to moving well enough to passably guard LeBron.

After watching Lebron put up 43 13 and 15...and lose last night, I realized two things:

1. The Cavs have the same predictable one-dimensional offense that gets stale in the playoffs
2. Jamison will not change things unless they drastically change their philosophy.

It was painful watching Lebron get the ball 50 feet from the bucket last night literally every trip down the court. He made some spectacular plays down the stretch but also chucked up alot of threes and missed free throws. There is no ball movement in that offense and that always cathes up to teams in the playoffs. Ive said it before. If the Cavs had a different coach, they would probably have 2 maybe 3 titles by now.

Im glad they don't get it...i wonder sometimes with that team, who is the coach Lebron or Brown. Its seems late in games,we all know where the ball is going, only thing the other team has to figure out is,which corner Lebron will chuck from.tp

C's can still win it.  They are their own worst enemies and the main reason they lose games---not that other teams are beating them when they are giving a full effort.  Until they play focussed games against stiff competition and lose, they're still a factor.

Unfortunately, it's getting them to focus that's the big issue.
